I wish they would do this too. Or leave an open spot in the case for the 3D BD

Best Buy has finally listed the Amazing Spider-Man 2 4K UHD Bluray. It's status in coming soon instead of pre-order however. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/the-amaz...&skuId=4901151

The other Sony titles can be found here. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpa...&iht=y&usc=All Categories&ks=960&keys=keys&seeAll=

I see Amazon has Spiderman 2 for 24.99. Do you guys think this is the lowest we are going to see these movies for over the first month that they are released?

I am really thinking about buying it with a few gift cards.

Over the first month? Definitely. If you wait a little while longer, I suppose $19.99 isn't out of the question. But I'd be stunned if it dropped below that for a long time.

Now that according to UHD specs there are no regional restrictions for playback and UHD discs have a huge space, why don't they put all the subtitles available from all BD regional releases of each movie on the same UHD?

What is even more perplexing is why they haven't solved this OTA. So that you could just download whatever language you want your subs to be to the player. If storage is an issue maybe this can be done with SD-cards (of course the players would need SD-card slot).

I buy region A BDs (and theoretically NA UHDs), and don't use subs myself for English or Scandinavian languages, but if I needed them for other languages I would like an option for Swedish.

My idea:

-Different release dates around world.
-Studios want you to visit the cinema first or buy the Blu-ray aftwards in your own country
-Countries that prefer dubbing and replace original audio, or other changes
-A bunch of subtitles would encourage importing

I expected with blu-ray to be able to download the dubbed version, but that never happened. Maybe with ultra blu-ray?

They're matching Best Buy's price. Good thing I preordered it when it was $24.99. Weak movie, but it's gonna be great demo material.

It'd be nice if they would, for once, beat their price.

I totally forgot about that feature they promised.

I can watch movies without any subtitles with no problem but family and friends can't.

Studios are retards regarding regional subtitles and as we have no Blu-ray in our country, importing them from abroad.
Problem for me is, I can only import from the US or the UK and for some weird reason, Arabic subtitles are mostly available in Central Easter Europe releases!
Why should I import Blu-rays from Czech Republic while the UK is way closer to the Middle East just for Arabic subs?

For those in the U.S., you can get this for less than $20 shipped from Amazon.ca. Other 4k movies are around the same price, and you'll have to order a few to get it under $20 shipped. I don't know about timing though, or if the cover is bilingual, but for under $20 I'm in.

Just to be clear, I never said it was a promised feature. I just think with existing tech it shouldn't be hard to implement these types of additional downloadable content. A sub file is not very taxing either on download caps or internal memory. Hell if they can have different previews, a sub file should be easy enough.

Although there was no promise indeed, having it in BD specs implied that it can be easily done.

It is just too much hassle to rip the movies to HDD, add subs and then play them back from the external HDD to the TV. And that doesn't work at all for 3D BDs without re-encoding.

Somebody grab this and convince me that I need it.

Out of the first Sony batch, this is the only movie I'd consider buying (love the movie) - but I promised myself I wouldn't rebuy any movie I had on BD already.
