Default Californication Discussion

So I was just watching the season 2 finale and I was dying at some parts.

[Show spoiler]Especially when the baby pops out and Hank celebrates.

I was on the ground laughing so hard. I love this show. It's hysterical and highly enjoyable not only for it's raunchy stories, but the storytelling itself. I really enjoyed season 2, but I'm upset about
[Show spoiler]Marci and Charlie. I love Marci, she's awesome.

Still, great season, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. Definitely a phenomenally written show and one of the funniest shows on television.

IMHO Californication is a much better show than Entourage and I watch both religiously. The writing for Californication is spectacular. Too bad about Lew Ashby, but I didn't expect his character to be around forever.

Wouldn't mind seeing the rollerskate girl get a regular role.

Well so much for the
[Show spoiler]spoiler tag with regards to Lew. He was awesome. But he was meant to be a parallel to Hank and what happens when you don't have control over the same lifestyle. He had to die.

And that's what makes this tragic comedy such a perfect television show. I don't watch Entourage, never got into it. But it just seems to me the humor and storytelling in Californication trumps it ten fold.

I need to watch the finale again.

anyway, I love the show and agree it's better than entourage. Same vein but much more mature. Then again in some ways it's a lot less wild than entourage. But one is a far more real take on the same world.

edit - I always felt like Californication was in some ways a response to Entourage, but now HBO is fast tracking a show absed on Anthony Kiedis' (Red Hot Chili Peppers lead singer) teenage life. It should be good, as his biography was thoroughly entertaining, but it is extremely obvious that this show will be a response to Californication, especially considering the legal battles between the show and the RHChili Peppers.

weird stuff. Anyway, love Californication and I don't expect any show to match what Duchovny does.

I'd recommend stopping after season 4.

Yes this show has a lot of twists, but it does get old after a while. I don't remember which season, but I guess its each individual viewer.
