'Californication' Casting News (Potential Spoilers)

Season 3 casting has been shaping up very strangely, but also very awesome! I love the life and times of Hank Moody and I'm just very happy this show is on a great network like Showtime which has allowed it to grow and continue to rock the boat. There has been several different casting announcements over the last month so I just combined them all to one thread. What do you all think of the guest stars for Season 3?

Exclusive: Rick Springfield joins 'Californication'

Man, the Coreys are going to be pissed they didn't get this. Actor-slash-"Jessie's Girl" crooner Rick Springfield has signed on to play himself in four episodes of Californication, sources confirm to me exclusively.

As I tweeted earlier this month, producers of the Showtime dramedy put out a casting call looking for "an actor who experienced huge fame in the 80's to play themselves as a now down-on his-luck-ex-celebrity waiting tables to get by."

Props to Springfield for having the guts to poke a little fun at himself. And for being down with the "tasteful nudity" and "simulated sex" that I'm told the role requires. (That noise you hear is millions of middle-aged General Hospital fans squealing, "We're going to see Dr. Drake's naughty bits!")

What happens when a sex addict falls for a boy-crazy student? We'll find out later this year when Rescue Me and Numb3rs alum Diane Farr joins the third season of Showtime's Californication as a horny grad student who falls for David Duchovny's carnally-obsessed Hank.

The 10-episode gig is Farr's first since giving birth to twin girls, Sawyer Lucia Chung and Coco Trinity Chung, last August. She also has a 2-year-old son, Beckett, with husband Seung Yong Chung.

"Staying home with three little kids for six months has made me wonder if I might drown in a sea of velour sweat pants," the actress says with a laugh. "Californication is like a grooming life-preserver for me. I can't wait to go to work."

Farr's especially looking forward to not having to channel yet another tough chick in uniform. "I am so excited to play someone who is girlie," she enthuses, "and wears a sundress without a gun or a fire hose in my hand."


Exclusive: Kathleen Turner heats up 'Californication'

Iconic sex symbol Kathleen Turner is joining Showtime's Californication for a recurring arc during the dramedy's upcoming third season, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Turner will play the ball-breaking, foul-mouthed, outrageous boss of Evan Handler's literary agent. She's Ari Gold without the poison sushi allergy penis!

A Showtime rep declined to comment, but Turner's spokesperson, Alan Nierob, confirmed that the Oscar-nominated actress would be spending three months in Los Angeles shooting the role. Season three of Californication is slated to debut next fall.

I would guess Springfield is gonna be Season 3's Lou Ashby, and as for Dianne and Alicia, Hank will nail them, cause that's what makes Hank, Hank

Figured since I made this thread last year, I might as well just bump it again for new casting news, cause I got some good stuff here!

EXCLUSIVE: Two new ladies are entering Hank Moody’s world. Carla Gugino and Addison Timlin have landed major season-long arcs on the upcoming Season 4 of Showtime’s comedy series Californication. In 10 episodes, Entourage alumna Gugino,will play a new love interest to troubled novelist Hank Moody (David Duchovny), a likeable corporate attorney. Moody is expected to go through the legal system this coming season after being dragged away in handcuffs in the last scene of the Season 3 finale. Appearing in eight episodes, Timlin (Cashmere Mafia) will play an actress starring in the film within the show.
