Watched the movie Pacific Rim 3D for the first time ever. Mind = Blown.

Didn't know this one was 1.85, because I would have moved it up in the viewing schedule.

Decided to buy somemore 3D movies off Amazon: MIB 3 3D, MegaMind 3D, and Everest 3D.

Noticed that many 3D movies are going up on Amazon, glad I already have alot of titles.

just finished IMAX Deep Sea, the 3d is amazing, i was floored from start to finish with the 3d, definitely a demoworthy 3d disc.

I watched the international cut of Harlock: Space Pirate

The CGI was proper eye-candy, with some spectacular space battles and apocalyptic effects, but the 3D was DOA (depth only, alas). Yes, there were elements that broke the screen barrier, but only barely, making this yet another animated movie with nice depth but no memorable pop-out.

The dubbing wasn't great either, it was obvious everyone was speaking Japanese, so it will have to be the Japanese version I watch next time I put this on. But I'm not in any hurry to do that...

I find this very surprising. Wolverine 3D is notorious for having the gamma set too high. I have to turn DOWN the brightness on this one to enjoy it properly.

I am underwhelmed by the 3D in most releases these days. The lack of pop out in nearly every movie makes me feel like my movie screen is just a window. Great depth in many but I think the lack of projection toward the viewer is killing the format.
Mad Max Fury Road has loads of great pop outs.

Gave this one a try.

I have to say, I really enjoyed it -- even Rooney Mara who IMO is the most overrated actor of this generation.

The visuals were great, the 3D was maybe medium on my set-up, and I actually kind of liked the story. It just goes to show you that if you're even slightly interested in a movie, check it out regardless of reviews.

The one thing I thought DIDN'T work was Garrett Hedlund. I'm not sure what he was supposed to be doing -- channeling Jack Nicholson a la 1940s? His character really took me out of it at times. Way too over the top.

In 3D.

The film I had already seen and really enjoyed it. The UK never got a Blu Ray 3D release so I finally got this from Australia. The 3D was excellent. Happy to finally have this in the collection.

The 3D was medium? What the heck?! The 3D in this is absolutely spectacular and really strong! Loads of pop outs, great layers, it's got it all!

(Honestly, man, I suck at pointing out 3D layering. I thought it was a visual blast. But whenever I say that, I get "It was flat. It sucked." So, yeah. I need 3D Measuring school.)

It's ok dude, personally I cannot praise this one enough. As far as I'm concerned Pan is essentially a how to on how to provide the best 3D possible in every shot

I told my wife there were times I actually leaned into the screen. I rarely do that.

Damn. Are there actually people who think that Rooney Mara can act?!!
She could maybe play Skeletor- she has the perfect face for it.

The Academy seem to think so as they nominated her for an Oscar.

Hit a Disc Replay location and found Journey 2 3D (The Rock) for $12 with slip.

Figured I'd see if they had the first one and found 'something' in the regular BD section for $5.

The box for Journey said something about 3D on the back, but I had a bad feeling because it had old-style glasses in the box.

Long story short, only the 2012 reissue of Journey 3D has modern 3D (not the old 2008 BD).

Not a total loss for $5, 2008 version had a nice slip and the old-fashion 3D is delightfully awful.

LOL Frank. I if I received a pair of old style 3D glasses with one of my packages I'd be a bit surprised as well. Who knows, maybe the 3D will be even stronger!
