And yes, my DVE - HD Basics just arrived today in fact from Tower.com. I was concerned about this issue and decided that this would be a good way to set up my Panny, although I love it the way it is.

Excellent! That's all you'll need to set your TV up with the best possible picture short of a professional calibration. Make sure you start out in Standard/Custom mode (I think it changes to Custom as soon as you make an adjustment). The DVD will step you through the rest. Don't be surprised when you are done if the picture seems a little "dull" to you. That usually happens after you've been use to watching your set in Vivid or even Standard mode. Soon, you'll apprreciate the more natural and accurate picture. Good luck.
