3. assault on precinct 13
4. dog soldiers
Class of '84 is a fun 70's revenge style movie, but it's a slow burn. It builds and builds to the crazy finale. If you like 70's gritty revenge type flicks with a slow burn then you'll like it. The disc is good, not some new remaster but a solid catalog title.

Assault on Precinct 13 is a fun action drama, but it's not quite the extravaganza people act like it is. It's mostly a character piece. The transfer has some complaints but looked solid to me overall.

Dog Soldiers is a super fun low budget werewolf action flick. The transfer is kind of insanely weird but it also kind of looks good in a grindhouse way. Extras are great.

From Facebook:

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCES**

We end the month by announcing two more Collector Editions that are coming your way this Summer! The box-office hits JEEPERS CREEPERS and JEEPERS CREEPERS 2 are both planned for separate blu-ray releases on June 14th.

Extras will be announced sometime in Late April but we can confirm that both will each be 2-disc sets. The newly-designed front-facing artwork you see here for each is final (not pictured is the reverse wrap image which will showcase the original theatrical poster art.)

Early pre-order now directly from us and receive a free 18" x 24" poster of the new art (while supplies last) plus early shipping!

I love this announcement. I had a suspicion this was coming since the MGM double-feature disc went OOP.

Artwork on those are gorgeous.

Though, Shout better buy some sturdy umbrellas to protect themselves from the massive shitstorm coming their way if they have Victor Salva do an interview.

I loved these two movies. The two pack of these movies on blu ray are literally $7. But to get these both it'll be like $46. Being a collector is fun, isn't it fellas?...

I guess Lady in White will complete the retro titles for June, a total of 5 titles (and Rollercoaster is certainly borderline), so a great and busy month.

With regard to releasing Collector's Editions of previously-released MGM titles, so far five have been announced for this year (TCM2, Return of the Living Dead, Manhunter, and Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2). These double-dips are a sensible option really, as there's no way they could continue the CE line much longer purely by putting out MGM, Universal and Fox titles not previously released on Blu-ray (there aren't many realistic candidates if you look at it, but the Morgan Creek catalogue might provide a couple). We've already discussed the potential Universal titles they might upgrade, so it will be interesting to see which other MGM titles they'll acquire. Possibilities include:

Carrie
Child's Play
Misery
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Last House on the Left
Species
Poltergeist 2
Poltergeist 3
Teen Wolf
Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal

Of course, not all of these will come to fruition, for various reasons (Arrow or Criterion might beat them to certain titles, MGM might not want to licence certain films, Scream might not feel they can top the current edition, they might not be able to do new transfers in certain cases).

When are we going to get a special edition of Halloween? It's only been 2 years since the 10th release

Criterion will probably release Carrie because they have a great relationship with Brian DePalma.

Was there a shitstorm when they got Mel Gibson to do an interview for Mad Max?

Did Mel sexually abuse a young boy? An absurd comparison.

That would be my dream. It's 40th anniversary is this year, so I hope someone celebrates it. It's my all time favorite movie!

Wish Scream Factory would get APRIL FOOL'S DAY. Seems like a perfect title for them to take on.

Why do we need more re-releases of films that already exist on blu-ray?? It's not a "sensible" option, it fact it's more akin to "beating a dead horse". Is it realistic to believe that many are going to double-dip on these films simply because of a new slip cover and maybe one or two new bonus features (ala a Scream CE)? I doubt it...

That's not announced... just merely one such option available for a Collectors edition in the future.

As for Jeepers Creepers. I really dig the artwork and the release does make sense and is a good fit for the line, but unless these are mind-blowingly awesome with amazing transfers and/or some crazy special features I'm content with my MGM releases.

Covers for those who haven't seen them.
