I willing to put money on the fact that you probably had some wires touching and when you cranked it, the resistance got too high and the reciever went into protection mode. I've done this myself on my old reciever. When you moved it to the window where the fan was, you moved the wires and since they were no longer touching, you can now crank your reciever. There is nothing wrong with your unit. Stories like these are how overheating rumors are started

lol. Nope, no wires touching. And i didnt put the 605 in my window. I took a giant fan that normally sits in my window, and put it on top of the receiver.

Have you attempted to reset the amp to factory defaults!? Have you set it up properly with the MIC and what not?I do not mean to come across as a know it all but I just can't see how I have had mine up without any problems I mean worst ways I know Onkyo hands out a 3 year warranty so not too sad.
a 3 year warranty!? Thank you for saying that! Ill look into it more. I thought it would be a one year warranty meaning id have to send it in within the next few months - which would mean i wouldn't be able to play LittleBigPlanet. ...which is a giant issue for me.
3 years... Nice.

Haha. We appear to be different people.
