I bought Shocker at Movie Stop yesterday. Resistance is futile.

I remember liking this movie when I rented it on VHS way back in the day, so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up today.

Anyone knows why there hasn't been Scream reviews in this site anymore?
They skipped The Guardian, Serpent and the Rainbow, and I believe Cherry Falls will be ignored too. What's happening?

Looks like it's gotten increasingly sporadic starting last february. Maybe the site mentioned compression problems too many times so they no longer receive screeners :P

This wouldn't surprise me at all as there always seems to be an abundance of people that like to complain with each release. More than that though I question whether review copies are even needed these days. The films aren't new, so the need to review the movie is out the window. Scream Factory has been around for enough years that everyone that is interested in these films probably already knows about them, and more importantly, there are plenty of users here on the site that scoop up every release regardless of what it is and offer their input anyways.

I'd love for every title to have a review, but I'm not sure it's that important at this point or if it even helps sales at all.

Blu ray reviews of the Guardian and the Serpent and the Rainbow have appeared on other sites.

I have the bare bones version of Escape from New York. Is it worth upgrading to the Scream Factory version?

I'm interested to see what they do with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2.

it's hard to say. Your older MGM version is a pretty dark transfer.
The newer one from SCREAM has a brighter picture but many scenes are marred by having a blue line running down the screen which is quite obvious in certain shots

I prefer this version but some do not...

The Scream has obvious contrast boosting which is annoying, but the MGM is a little too dark and drab. The best transfer would be between the two, which doesn't exist. Pick your poison.

It's worth it just for the extras, but the pq is also superior to me because as others have already mentioned the mgm release is pretty dark.
