I have not seen Elementary at all, I was watching TV tonight and I stumbled across Elementary on Showcase and it happened to be the one where you find out that Irene Adler

Elementary doesn't try to adhere to the letter of the Sherlock canon, but I think it's truer to the spirit of the Sherlock canon. Yes, sometimes the specific plots can be average, and it sometimes plays hob with characters from the canon, but at its best, I think the cases are very clever, and Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu are very convincing as Holmes and Watson, and I find that I like them as those characters just as much as I like Cumberbatch and Freeman. |
