Mi4K BDs was almost same UHD 4K disc but not same HDR unlimited colours.
And new Dolby Atmos remix on 11.1 channels.

I sure UHD wins.

Out of curiosity, how does the Netflix 4K version of Ghostbusters hold up compared to the latest blu-ray?

I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect with the UHD blu-ray version.

I don't think you can compare a 4K streaming version to a 100GB disc with Atmos sound on the UHD version.

I've got mine pre-ordered for both films and should be with me in the next 3 weeks.

Got an actual source (besides forum chatter) that it will have a 100GB disc?

It won't. Production of 100g discs starts in August.

I'm sure it'll still look better than netflix.

You got the number of letters in the correct response right. The correct response is:

Unlike Blu-ray, streaming services are a moving target.

So point to a demonstration that shows 4k streaming even matching blu-ray 1080p pq and no, promotional hype does not count. Dont worry though I am not expecting you to be able to do that.

Avforums.com did 2 comparisons.

1st one gave edge to Netflix 4k. (House of cards season 2)

2nd one was a draw. (Better Call saul)

Ah yes the site that proclaims all pq as looking great no matter how awful. And of course provided no 4K demonstration, in fact did not even do 1080p comparisons.

Just the same dime-a-dozen hype about 4k streaming without proof that is common on the internet.

They provided extremely detailed scene analysis. Much more detailed than anything I've ever seen you post.

But you may be reading wrong how I feel on the subject. I'm not blown away by netflix 4k the way I am with 4k Blu ray. 4k netflix has a nice overall picture but usually lacks the sharpness and black levels of discs.

It's almost like people have their minds made up before actually experiencing an A/B experiment on their own, crazy.

Anyway, I saw Ghostbusters in an Alamo Drafthouse for the 30th anniversary and that was a blast! While the crowd was really into it, the copy they had wasn't in the best shape. I can't wait to pick it up on UHD soon and see how sharp and vibrant it was originally!

Also, I interested to see the custom covers available as the ones coming with Ghostbusters 1+2 are fugly.

Indeed, Ghostbusters will be a VERY interesting test of how UHD will benefit movies of that sort of '70s/'80s vintage when grain was abundant. Then again, the entire point of those faster, grainier stocks was to capture more latitude in the first place, so that can only be a good thing regarding the latent dynamic range that exists on those negatives.

Three times change more improvement on BDS
-Ghostbusters
-GB 25th anniversary
-GB Remastered 4K

I think UHD is finest advanced! don't forget HDR10.

Oh one more. Dolby Atmos

If they don't just crank the brightness to 11, I would assume it will give a closer approximation (given an HDR10 grading) of the dynamic range of the original elements, which have almost always been better than any consumer product thus far.

Sony Japan has a better idea for the cover art:

Out August 3rd, 2016. Click the pictures to order from Amazon. They are almost 100% certain to be the identical UHD discs to the USA (the Blu-rays have already been confirmed as such).

No Digital HD. Content beats cover art, especially when it's just the spine you'll be seeing 99% of the time it's on the shelf.
