Default 46' Panasonic Plasma Costs More Than A 50'?

I love Sony, but I thought I would give a Panny a 2 week trial period. I can get them through work with a huge discount. If I like it I will keep it, if not I will take it back but I can only fit up to a 46' on my stand.

But the problem is that the 46 inch Panasonic is listed as more than the 50 inch. Any reason why? Its the same model number and this pattern is the same on Best Buy's site as well as Panasonic's.

Model: TH-46PZ800U / Our Price: $2,799.99
(my price is $1,989.96)

Model: TH-50PZ800U / Our Price: $2,499.99
(my price 1,751.00)

That's a good point you make. But, aren't you the one who swore by Sony and LCD only. I think you will be pretty pleased with either one of these plasmas. I hope you like these and see why so many people are biased towards plasmas. Good luck.

it happens. some tvs go on sale more then others. Like a month ago we had the Sam ln52a650 cheaper then the Sam ln46a650 but since you are limited in room it does not matter how much the bigger one costs.

I do like Sony and LCD's but the economy sucks and I don't want to spend $2,700 on a TV. The only LCD's that work for me are close to 3 grand and I only want to spend about $1500.

Most people will swear on their lives that these plasmas are better than any LCD more than twice its price. I know the 42PZ80U is a great tv, one I am hoping to get soon. I can only imagine the the 800 series is that much better with a higher contrast ratio.

why not just wait? save up the money and get the tv you actually want instead of having to just settle. that way you will also be more sure of your economic status.

I just brought mine home today! They're listed at Circuit City for $999, plus, if you order online (and pick it up in store) you can use the 10% off coupon posted in our "hot deals" forum.

I walked out the door with a 42PZ80U for $899.99 (no tax)!
