It appears the standard edition still has a good amount of extras.
Well, you will miss out on-
- A third blu-ray disc, filled with even MORE special features.
- A soundtrack CD, with two new tracks.
- An 88-paged Coffee Table-sized book (hence why the set is as big as a vinyl case).
and...
- A 70mm film cell.

My opinion is to get this edition, but get it when it is on sale. It might cost you $60-100 now, but it can get as low as $30.
EDIT: Right now, its $48 at Amazon.

I've seen unboxing vids, it does look amazing but I have so very little physical space for BDs. The list of bonus features of the third disc does look amazing, but I think I'll go standard this time. Especially since the transfer seems to be the same, which I have already seen from a library rental last year.

Does anyone have an empty case and artwork for this movie they'd like to sell? Thanks.

At Best Buy this week, they have the 2-disc Steelbook on sale for 9.99 and the Limited Edition box for 59.99. They price matched with Amazon's $56 price tag when I picked the latter up tonight.

Are you serious?! Amazon is like the worst scalper you ever heard of. Do you not ever notice the countless "exclusives" Amazon sells from various retailers? Well, they do sell many of these "exclusives" and for unbelievable prices, often 2-4 times their list price. Not to mention, everything else under the sun they sell. They dont make profit? They are the epitome of profiteering.

I think you'll find that things sold for 2-4x list price are sold via Amazon, but are actually being sold by third parties.

But even if it is sometimes Amazon directly, you can't judge profitability by any one product. You have to look at the overall business. And most of Amazon's profits are now from Cloud services and Prime memberships. This is no secret - it's quite clear in their annual reports, etc.

I find it interesting how many people don't get the "third parties" are not Amazon. But hey, why let facts get in the way.

Some people will find any reason to hate Amazon. Even when it is unjustified and field by incorrect information.

I saw the limited edition box at Best Buy yesterday - it looks very cool. Great for a fan of the film.

I just opened my copy of the standard edition purchased from B&N months ago and was pleasantly surprised it came with a still active UV copy.

For some reason I thought only the collector's box came with one.

I saw one copy at mine as well.

It's a gorgeous looking box.

But I'm not spending $56 for a gorgeous looking box, a coffee table book and a couple of short interviews that aren't on the edition I already have.

Then you could sell both to recoup on your costs...

But that CD with the Score on it would never leave my possession.

A safe, generally low yield limited term investment, particularly if you are concerned about a downturn in the market but still want to beat typical low-interest savings accounts.

Can't figure out why they bundled it with LoA Deluxe, but hey, it should help off-set the higher cost of the set.

Gotta love how whatever content in the box doesn't interest you is mysteriously absent from your original post where you critique the box's content.

I didn't critique the box's content.

...I critiqued the box's price.
