Oh that's good.

I don't know how these kinds of deals work.

...does Shout always get the rights to previous special features of films they're restoring?

I think they probably have to pay for them, but yeah, I think they almost always do. They definitely did with this, The Thing, ROTLD, EFNY, The Fog and Mad Max anyway. I didn't think I have special edition DVDs of any of the other stuff I got their blu-rays of.

Actually, I don't think the Anchor Bay features from their Divimax Day of the Dead got carried over, but that's sort of a weird case since AB also released a blu-ray.

Shout did their own documentary (which was excellent) anyway for Day, I can see why they wouldn't want every last morsel from the AB release, although it retains the two commentaries, the old mine promo and the BTS stuff that Savini shot.

That was my first thought. I don't get why everyone loves that art. The floating heads art looks so much better.

We're sick of that template being applied to everything. I guess Shout needed to break out of it at some point and this is a good first step.

If you really love it, I'm sure ebay will be flooded with people who bought the limited version with the intent to sell the extra slipcover/poster in short order. I bet they'll be massively overpriced for about a week until people realize they aren't selling, and then they'll crater in value, and then steadily go up over time again. If you buy one right after the crater I bet you won't be paying more than about 10 bucks. If the floating heads are that important, that is your big chance!!

I love both of them, not enough to buy the limited edition though.

Have the MGM release and guess I'll eventually get this one when it's around $15. Because I'm very unwilling to pay too much for catalog releases anymore.

Wow, you sure speak of your opinion as if it is the Gospel. Where do you come up with this? "Until people realize they aren't selling"? You don't know that and you are making a foolish assumption. They always sell, as will these. There won't be any damned crater so please stop exaggerating with this garbage. There are are those who may not care for the artwork, but there are just as many that do, and will buy these on eBay without hesitation, especially after they are no longer available from Shout.

If people try to list them at 200 dollars like they have been with ROTLD, considering there are twice as many of these, I don't think they're going to have as much luck. I'm sure a lot of people that are buying this are doing so with the plans of trying to copy that behavior, too, which should glut the market even further. If you think they're all going to keep them at $200 forever and never start undercutting each other and people will be happy to buy them at that price, then sure, we disagree. I think a lot of people will start by listing them at ROTLD prices, and they'll progressively get undercut until people that want this slipcover will get a good deal.

All posts like this are opinion. If this concept makes you so mad, I suggest avoiding internet forums. I have no idea why you took this so personally. I'm glad you upvoted yourself with your alternate account with one post.

Ahh, thanks so much for your kind suggestion, but I won't avoid anything. I'm not mad, but it sure seems like you were about the 'floating heads' and people who sell these on eBay. Perhaps you should take a break if it upsets you so much? To your point about the prices: I agree about the $200 overpricing.

Please quote any part of my last two posts that suggests I'm upset about either. I said multiple times that I bought this limited edition.

Though, considering it's not sold out yet and it's only about 10 bucks more expensive, it would probably make more sense to just buy the LE yourself!

I agree, anyone thinking about getting the LE should just get it now when it's only $10 more rather than later when/if it sells out. But I don't see the eBay prices dropping off that much in the future tbh. I still see SF posters selling for close to $40 of older releases on there. These LE's might not stay at insane prices but I still expect them to be about $50-80 down the line.
