For that price, this will fly off the shelves. I barely played NES games since I was born in 1993, but buying this for myself or my older siblings will be worth it.

How many of those games can support more than 1 player? Double Dragon 2 sticks out to me.

After looking at Wikipedia's list of NES games, I was really surprised some didn't make the cut. Maybe there's licensing issues now, but I have no idea about that. The ones that struck me were: Bomberman, Dragon's Lair, King's Quest V, Metal Gear (and by extension Snake's Revenge), but especially TMNT Arcade.

Bomberman, sure.
Lode Runner would also be nice.

But the other ones are crap except for TMNT arcade and that's probably in license hell. The only way to get the actual proper arcade version is through TMNT 2: Battle Nexus on Gamecube and PS2.

Yeah, it would be funny for a few seconds to play Dragon's Lair or King's Quest 5 or Metal Gear "I feel asleep!", but that's it.

It'll just be an emulator. All modern emulators I've used have a suspend feature. It should also allow you to save at any point instead of save points.

Some sites reported it as save states. I assume it's basically the same as on Wii U Virtual Console, but multiple states not just one.

If it doesn't, then it would be done on purpose and I would even understand it. Save states are simply cheats, which means you won't experience the games the same way as back then. In theory multiple save states per game could also mean: suspend states for multiple players, so that you can't cheat. We will see...

I'm not sure if I would prefer that or not. It's a difficult decision.

Yeah, it's weird that it wasn't released yet on Wii U Virtual Console. It is on Wii Virtual Console though.

No. The console is a standalone device, so it cannot connect to the internet or any external storage devices. The 30 games included with the system were chosen to provide a wide variety of top-quality, long-lasting game-play experiences.

They will confirm video emulation modes at a later date.

Not a problem for me as the main reason for me to own is the Super Mario games and the original Legend of Zelda (just in case my old Gamecube ever dies on me).

The other games are just bonuses.

Seriously though, it is a 30-Pack Game. People who buy this expecting future games shall be disappointed. I think it's neat they made the game into a retro mini NES though.

In addition to the NES Classic Controller, the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro are also compatible with the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition. Both can be plugged directly into the console; however, when using two controllers, one of them must be the NES Classic Controller.

Now that's a bit weird, although I guess not really a problem.

It would be really nice though in case Nintendo offered a sale on Wii U / 3DS of those 30 games right when that devices releases. Maybe even a bundle.

How will saving work?

Each game has multiple suspend points, so you can start where you left off at a later time.

It looks as if they want to deliver really a true NES experience. So possibly no cheats. I doubt they would answer like that in case they had regular save states.

Reading up on some of these games, they might be too hardcore. I like having the ability to save so you can continually try to make progress without starting all over again. If anyone doesn't want to do that, they simply don't need to save. (I'm assuming these are manual saves like SNES Super Star Wars on PS4).

I own every single game on Virtual Console that is on that list that is on Virtual Console. I am still buying this thing. Mostly for my sisters kids as a Christmas present. But I will be buying extra controllers for my Wii VC machine.
