It's interesting that the specs mention a new 2k scan rather than 4k. Is that a good thing? I'm assuming that the whole movie was shot in 16mm from the get go? Maybe Linklater suspected that moviemaking technology would change so much in 12 years so hedged his bets by using 16mm from the start, even though digital filming was already commonly used for several low budget Indies as far back as 2002 when he started the project.
