It doesnt have ALL the old DVD extras but it does have the ones you need. It doesnt have the multi-angle dissection of scenes for instance. But they really arent important.

I'll say this, I do like Hannibal more than Red Dragon. Because Hannibal has it's own flavor and identity, and respected the source material a bit more (despite not being all that accurate to the novel). Red Dragon felt like it was trying to cash in on the success of The Silence of the Lambs. Manhunter was better. As for Hannibal Rising, the less said about that movie the better. Still, the Hannibal TV series craps on all the films. Even The Silence of the Lambs.

I'm the weirdo who didn't like the TV show, but then I'm not a huge TV show guy in general. I do like all the movies though, especially Manhunter and SOTL.

I still havent seen the TV series but Im in no great rush (just too much to watch as it is).

I doubt it will match the visuals and audio of Hannibal the film though!

I only ever watched the first episode of the tv series. No point in watching a cancelled show now. It didn't even get that far.

Which is stupid, because the series is its own beast and has a definite conclusion.

Visually (especially the David Slade-directed episodes) it was the best thing on TV. It goes far beyond anything (even Hannibal the book) the films did in turns of surreal macabre.

Are you sure about that?

That's kinda of an ignorant thing to say. This isn't the same case with shows like Firefly, where they just cancelled it without letting the creator finished his story. Hannibal on the other hand, has a conclusion. So the creators of the show already got to tell their story, while also leaving it open for more. So saying Hannibal was cancelled is like saying Breaking Bad was cancelled. Each season of Hannibal feels like a 13 hour movie. Unlike some shows like The Walking Dead, where you have to wait until the next season just to find out what happened. Yes, Hannibal has cliffhangers as well, but it's done more cinematically. As for Hannibal not making it far, the show managed to get three seasons. That's more episodes than shows like Penny Dreadful, Sherlock, True Detective, and Twin Peaks. So think about that for a second.

Well, what can we say. Fannibals are very passionate creatures. So much so that they made a featurette about it for one of the Blu-rays.

Ill definitely be watching the Hannibal TV series at some point. Ill be impressed if it manages to beat the Hannibal film for visuals and the audio because Ridley is a master. I dont think it will get near the film for soundtrack but we shall see...

Actually the show does use some of the soundtrack from Ridley Scott's Hannibal. But it also has it's own soundtrack as well. Here's a sample...

Sure glad you weren't around when I started watching Deadwood or The Wire or Sons of Anarchy or Twin Peaks or Prime Suspect or, well, you get the idea.

The Hannibal TV series isn't even completely dead yet. Bryan Fuller (the creator of the show) said he's going to try and bring back Hannibal, and serious discussions for the future of the show will begin on August 2017. Even though I was satisfied by how the series has ended, I really do hope it comes back. Because I really want to see them tackle Clarice Starling. That is if MGM would just let Bryan Fuller use the rights for The Silence of the Lambs.

You may feel that way, because we're all individuals, but I think the score for the television show was phenomenal. It made the best use of my subwoofer in a non-crash-boom way I've ever heard. The low frequency notes (which vanished when I did A/B with my television speakers) heightened the emotional intensity of the show.

Honestly, the sound design was my favorite part of this show.

As for visuals, it's hard to beat the combination of attraction and revulsion the cooking scenes produced in me.

Three seasons and dozens of hours is pretty long. All the story lines were wrapped up.

I prefer series that have limited runs. Those that go on forever tend to lose focus and become shadows of themselves.
