Just finished Star Trek in 4K and I'll be seeing Into Darkness tomorrow night leading to the 8PM showing of this on Thursday.

Oh lovely, at least as already mentioned by another member some of it is reverential to the works of Jerry Goldsmith. it even looks at Giachinno's previous scores in a nostalgic value. which is so weird. It's my favourite perhaps. if that means anything?.

It's just frustrating that a marathon being presented in IMAX will not screen STID the way it was in IMAX in 2013.

It's been on FX fairly frequently as of late. I think they're even showing it again tonight.

If you're a fan of the original series, you'll have noticed that they mirror quite a few shots. So Kirk's parting changes sides a bit in that too. It is unusual for them to flip shots in a feature, usually it's a last resort.
