Definitely holding out on this. I want to watch it badly right now, but can't justify the price on Vudu right now. I'll wait until I get the physical media, then I'll have the best of both worlds.

Saw the post below (google translated) on a French forum. Does anyone know if this is just regarding the French release, or did Warner cancel the UHD release of Pacific Rim altogether?

just received an email from Amazon FR telling me that they had to cancel my preorder Pacific Rim UHD because the publisher decided not to leave the title ...

Delayed for now I think. The German one is pushed back too. But it is still planned for a release though.

Willing to bet this gets released shortly before the sequel. With the sequel now moving forward I bet they have delayed this released to tie into that one

For me given that all its CGI effects were natively rendered in 2K 3D I have no interest in this title as my Blu-Ray 3D release is better

Dolby Atmos and possibly Dolby Vision.
Those might interest others.

Both would interest me tons if they were released in 3D. Hell I might rebuy this if they were to release a Blu-Ray 3D version with Atmos if it was cheap enough. But 3D trumps that and especially this 3D which was absolutely excellent in the action sequences

Unfortunately, 3D Atmos will probably not happen. Given Warner's track record. Gravity was a glaring one. Re-released with Dolby Atmos but no 3D.

Dolby Vision 3D on Blu-ray, don't think it will ever happen.

I really doubt what you are saying. The latest news is that Pacific Rim 2
won't be released until 2018.

The Walmart pre-order page says 'Immersive Audio - Multi-Dimensional Sound', so I suppose it has either Dolby Atmos or DTS-X.

VUDU has this in Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
Now this is by no means official, but it's quite sufficient to say it should come with Dolby Atmos. Dolby Vision is unlikely to happen, unless this release is so delayed until Dolby Vision is ready.
