The girl who played the daughter was amazing though. I'm glad we are finally past the days of constantly bad child actors. |

I noticed some billboards in this during one of the driving scenes. They were both in the same shot pretty much. One was for "Jaws 2" and the other was for "Airport 1977". The reason I found them interesting is because both movies are very recent Universal catalog releases, but "The Nice Guys" was a Warner movie. Could Universal have paid WB to put those in there as a bit of sly advertising, or was it just a huge coincidence?

I think with those film billboard Shane was going for period-piece authenticity for a specific time in the 70's. Maybe Warner Bros. didn't have any big blockbusters out at the specific time in which this takes place? Or maybe those billboards were actually there at that time and Shane wanted to be super specific? I don't really know, I didn't even get to see the film, but I'm gonna blind-buy it, odds are I'm going to enjoy it, considering the cast plus Shane Black plus the 70's-era setting. It's calling out to me.
I hope, at a minimum we get the same amount of extras that "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" got which would be a commentary track with the director at the very least and maybe the two leads. Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr. are on the "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" track with Shane. Also maybe a gag reel, seems like there could be one and deleted scenes, if there are any. One would expect the usual short form interviews about the genesis of the project and what it's like with the cast & crew, ect. |

WTH Warner!? This great movie and KEANU are being overlooked for the new 4K UHD blu ray. Why? Why are you just picking certain titles "worthy" enough for a UHD release? ALL new titles should be released in the new format. How do you expect it to survive when you want people to "re-buy" older standard blu ray titles? This is pitiful how you are treating this new format. Jump in and stay in!

Wait a minute... that "Private Dicks" is the tagline? It's so close to the title that all this time, I assumed it was either the Canadian edition showing the French title, or Warner was pulling another Edge Of Tomorrow move and wanted us to start calling it "The Nice Guys' Private Dicks".
