I have most on DVD and would gladly upgrade the ones I mentioned above. Do you honestly expect the unpopular and frankly not very good Nightfall to sell better than the oft requested Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker, a title which you released on DVD after the Blu-ray craze had started. Even then, Code Red fans held off buying the DVD in anticipation of a Blu-ray release. I bought the DVD, and though it's a good release, I'll gladly upgrade. Nightfall? Not so much.

Quick question about Diabolikdvd.com. If the quantity available states "order now, more available soon", does this mean the item is out of stock?

BUTCHER BAKER sold 1,300 DVD

JULIE DARLING sold 870 at stores and repress another 500 and sold 230, so still got 270 at public storage

CARRIER sold 842 at the stores (like best buy) and label as a terrible release, now the dvd is worth money. people still say it was NEVER release? oh well

Right on, Wren!

Guys at Redemption told me the rights holder wants insane money, so it will probably never happen.

I personally have not purchased Butcher Baker in hopes that a blu ray will eventually be released, and I know many others have said the same in this thread.

If you're touting these releases as a premium batch of titles, you should be putting the extra effort into italian dub/english sub, reversible insert, clear style case, maybe a little booklet, limited edition copies signed by the last fart alive involved with the film, and maybe a slip cover to cover that dork niche of the market. You got to appeal to the criterion/arrow types if you want to grow Code Red outside of the followers here. The one trend on this forum is most people have some form of OCD, so lure them into premium Italian releases, then they'll buy up your backstock to fill out their spline numbers.

Me too. I have intentionally not picked up the DVD because I'm waiting on the blu-ray.

Same here! I won't buy dvds unless I know for certain there won't be a blu ray release.

Clear cases are overrated.

Just get these Italian films out so I can give you my money.

Considering the numbers you say sold for everything else, and that you keep releasing a ton of films to Blu many times lesser in popularity than BBNM, I'd say 1300 is damn good for Code Red.

I bought the DVD... and I'd double dip.

I also fall into this category. I don't buy DVDs, but would certainly buy the Blu-ray.

The last DVD I bought was a a shot-on-video slasher. And that's only because it will never be released on blu-ray; not ever (unless Slasher//Video get a hold of it ). DVDs are virtually off-limits for me at this point unless I really love the film or don't foresee it even having the slightest chance of coming out in HD, on blu-ray. Plus, I just don't have the budget to support two buying two formats.

Bill, regarding the upcoming Italian titles... I say forget the Italian audio and simply offer the English dub tracks. No extras required either. Just bare-bones releases with the best video quality you can muster. Also, I'm a big fan of using the U.S. poster art for the covers. The images you posted for the ALMOST HUMAN and CRY OF A PROSTITUTE covers are just great!

Since Bill didn't mention THE WITCHMAKER, I assume that it sold pretty well for him.

I bet some people didn't buy the Carrier dvd since it was full frame. It's a good movie and I would bet that there are those that would buy it now, or rebuy it if you could release it in widescreen and on blu. It's a good movie and deserves a widescreen release.
I like the film, bought the dvd, and would happily rebuy it if it was released in widescreen on bluray.
