My main setup has a 9.1 system but only a 1080P TV. SInce getting a 2160P HDR TV in my secondary setup I have rarely used my main setup. Even though I'm just using the Sony speaker bar in it. I've preferred to use the smaller UHD TV in the secondary setup. I'm still amazed at how the speaker bar can make sounds appear like they are coming from a location that is nowhere near where the speaker bar is. Of course it's not as good as a dedicated 9.1 setup. But it'smiles better than using TV speakers. Last edited by aaronwt2065; 07-31-2016 at 04:07 AM. |

You might get a slight sense that you hear sound from the sides and behind, but when you actually hear sound really coming from the sides and behind then you will realize the difference. This is not a knock on soundbars, as they too have their place. I am planning to have a second smaller room set up with a second TV and because of space limitations I will most likely go with a soundbar |

Nope, I just set it to bitstream to the AVR and let it handle everything, and made sure that it was going out via hdmi.

Apologies if this has been mentioned already, I've seen cases of it being reported over at AVS, but I've yet to read if someone found a solution, particularly to the first issue.
I got my K8500 back in April and had no issues with it up until last week. Now, every time I turn it on, the power light flashes red and the player displays no picture. In order to get it to turn on, I have to toggle the power button multiple times and sometimes press the capacitive buttons. The eject button works while this is occurring, by the way. Around the same time, Netflix started acting up during 4K playback. I get multiple video dropouts and full frame freezes while the audio continues. The only way to back out is to repeatedly hit the home button until it eventually responds. Additionally, all apps I've tried (most notably Netflix and YouTube) quit out when navigating their interfaces, seemingly at random. Any one had any of these issues? |

At the recommendation of someone else who had a similar issue, I left the unit unplugged today while I was at work, Now it is totally unresponsive. Just a blinking red light. I can't get it to turn on at all, or display the startup logo, which it was doing before.

I have the Samsung UN65JU7500 and a firmware update from last year was supposed to enable HDR. How do you know if HDR is enabled on this tv? I had BvS playing last night and when I hit the info button, the Samsung player displayed HDR during playback. Does that mean it's on? I wasn't blown away by the picture quality. It looked very good, but not like I was hoping.

You also have to make sure the HDMI input has UHD Color turned on and you're in Native color mode. Turn Deep Color to off in the player and output 4:4:4. |

What if we live color space in Auto? Shouldnt that be the same as 4:4:4?
