THE THREE WORLDS OF GULLIVER
WILD IN THE COUNTRY
THE INCIDENT

HOMICIDAL (Friedhofer score on isolated audio)
HOUND DOG MAN (rare Don Siegel, probably not likely)

Good list. I'm most excited for Gamma Rays.

I'm guessing we aren't getting Nov/Dec announcements today

Perhaps that's why the shipping of the August releases has apparently been spotty, if not arbitrary.

I just got back from out of town and have to admit I'm pretty disappointed that the Nov/Dec releases weren't announced. I'm expecting a really great list to end the year. I guess we'll just have to wait a bit more

Twilight Time Movies
6 mins ·

As MGM/UA have advised us they are losing the rights to the movie version of David Mamet's fantastic play, AMERICAN BUFFALO, TT's Blu-ray will be OUT OF PRINT at midnight on September 12th, 2016. As an incentive for last-minute dawdlers who do not yet have this title in their collection, the price is reduced to $14.95 at both http://www.screenarchives.com and at http://www.twilighttimemovies.com - now you have no excuses! Don't delay as it's gone in 4 weeks!

"American Buffalo" is absolutely worth picking up at that price for any Mamet fan. Hoffman and Franz are both excellent in it.

It's a blind buy for me, but I've loved other Mamet films (GGR, House of Games, Things Change, Homicide, etc.), and I'm pretty confident I'll feel the same about this. Not that my wallet is complaining, but I'm a little surprised about MGM losing the rights. This is the first time that this has happened with a TT title during the three-year "exclusivity window", no?

Ordered one from SAE (It's still $29.95 @ TT's site currently ). Thanks for the heads up!

Funny...

All of this time, I had Murphy's Law confused with Murphy's Romance (1985), and I just sort of dismissed it with a "meh." (Murphy's Romance is a good film that I enjoyed back in the day, but it's not one that I really need to own.)

After seeing the cover just now, though, I realize that it's a Bronson action film, and, therefore, top priority.

I believe it is the first time. If you enjoy Mamet's writing, then "American Buffalo" will be right up your alley. It's similar to "Glengarry Glen Ross" in that it's like a play on film. The transfer is also superb, even though it's not like you want to see Hoffman and Franz in crystal clear HD haha.

For any Bronson fan, the words 'Charles Bronson' make it top priority.

I love Mamet's writing, along with being a big fan of both Dennis, and Dustin, but have been cynical about this visually dreary film needing an HD facelift ?

My DVD will be just fine, I thought until today that is.

It just got better ! Amazon record show my used DVD was $.84 ?!?!?

Last edited by MikeZ.; 08-15-2016 at 07:42 PM. Reason: Stealing a great Mamet play in the usual high quality of TT for mere pennies !

It is the opposite for me. Murphy's Romance is high on my list of wanted titles on Blu ray.
