Half.Com is like a non-bid version of Ebay. Individual sellers are free to sell whatever items they want for whatever price they want. This can be totally up front, as it is in most cases, or can be blatently illegal. I myself once purchased what I thought was a used copy of the film "24 Hour Party People" that turned out to be a blatent bootleg.
It is entirely possible that the seller is legitimately selling a copy of the movie. Perhaps it was a screener copy that he got through a friend or working at a video store. Maybe he's a reviewer that just really didn't want to keep the film and figured he could get a few bucks for it. The best way to gauge these things is to look at the comments their other buyers make and see if anyone is complained about what he sells or the way he sells them, just like on EBay. |
