Thanks. I always thought you must have 1080p TV or the picture quality won't be good. Good to know I don't need to buy an new TV capable of 1080p if 720p or 1080i is perfectly fine.

Unless your TV is 40 inches or larger you likely won't notice a difference between 720p and 1080p anyway. And even if it is bigger than 40 inches you still likely won't notice much.

I have a Sim 300e 720 DLP front projector paired with a 100" 16x9 Stewart Firehawk screen and the Samsung BDP 1200. At a seating distance of 13' feet the picture is phenomenal. Especially a film like Apocalypto which fills the whole screen.
I also have a 65' mits 1080p DLP. I switch between the two. Honestly there is some difference as the Mits provides more pop and detail is much better but I still prefer the "big screen" experience. Bottom line is prices on 1080P products (rptv's, lcd's fp's) are really coming down. If you can afford one go for it. If you already have a 720P device than you're not missing that much. I had a Toshiba 720p DLP TV for about two years, and Blurays looked absolutely amazing on it...
The 1080p projector i just got though really displays the difference between the two. 1080p is pretty awesome... |

It still looks awesome on 720p, but...
if you want to enjoy all of Blu-ray, go with 1080p.... its like, you wouldnt buy a Sidekick 3 for only using text messages. right... ![]() |

Just wanted to jump on the bandwagon and suggest that you get a blu-ray player as soon as you can and enjoy!
