congress needs to pass a law.
Its called the Rotten Tomato law. Here it is. Section 1: If a movie is released and receives a rating of over 80% it is entitled to a sequel if two of the following: producer, director and writer allow a sequel to be made. Another person cannot just come in, gobble up the rights and produce a sequel. Section 2: If a movie receives a score of less than 80% on Rotten Tomatoes a sequel is illegal to make, unless there is a petition from at least 5% of the residents of 30 out of the 50 states for a sequel to be made. Section 3: If a sequel of a movie is allowed to be made, the sequel most be within 15% of the original for a 3rd installment to be allowed AND have a Rotten Tomatoes score of better than 70%. Section 4: If a trilogy of movies wants to continue the story with a 4th installment, the average score of all 3 movies must be above 83% otherwise a 4th installment will not be allowed, also all installments within in the trilogy must be above 70% AND be within 15% of the original movie. Section 5: In the case that a studio wants to remake a classic, the remake must go through pre-screening approval by apointment of renowned movie critics before making it to the big screen. If more than 50% of the critics thinks that this movie does not live up to the classic, the remake is discarded to the dumpster. Also if more than 20% of the critics believe that this movie does harm to the original, the movie is discarded. Section 6: CGI is banned from all classic remakes. Period. Section 7: A movie based off of a video game must be based off a video game that received at least a 90% or higher on Metacritic. Uwe Boll is not allowed to produce, write, direct or even serve food at the buffet on any of these movies. Last edited by stockstar1138; 10-28-2008 at 04:04 PM. |
