I finally made it to stores 23 through 26 yesterday. In my 25th store, I finally found a copy of The Runner with $5 VUDU credit.

A heads up for anyone in the SE MA (Brockton / Boston) area. The N. Easton store on Rte. 123 had a grand total of 72 Blu-rays left with a great assortment of titles. It seems that store had been completely overlooked. There were still a fairly decent amount left too at the Stoughton store on Rte. 27, where I found The Runner. There was still another copy with the credit left.

My third and final trip to DT, same one I been going to. I went back to pick up a few titles I left last time: Stolen, Good People, and Roadie

So the whole haul altogether, plus Upside Down in there somewhere on the bottom.

But now we get to relax and watch these movies to see if they were worth the $1 investment, gas money and time driving around. :-)

Speaking of those. I was in the Waterford, CT FYE days ago and they had a bunch in the clearance section. They were marked $10.88 if I remember correctly, with 50% off of that. I'm not sure if they have this in every store, as I don't collect them and rarely bother to look at much beyond their movies.

Haha yeah me too. Finding them in the store the first day and being the first person to pick through them and then getting home and opening them up has been more fun than watching the movies themselves.

I did watch Parkland the other night and it was fantastic despite me having zero interest in the subject matter. I believe that's how it's going to be with everything else I bought too.

I went to one of the major local trade in places (McKay in Nashville) and I saw new sealed copies of "Upside Down," "The Good Doctor," "Shadow Dancer," "Reach Me," "To The Wonder" and "Stranger Land" (there were others of course I just didn't look). All were between 5.95 and $10.95. Which is insane.

I ended up buying a sealed "The Graduate" Criterion Blu-Ray for $16.95 there (I went to look to see if they had "Prince Avalance" and "A Hijacking" -- didn't see 'em at the local sale -- "Avalanche" was 10.95 but had a scratched case so it couldn't have been this sale. Anyway, that was too much for me so I'll get it at some other point...

Good deal on The Graduate, the other 2 get cheaper on Amazon but def won't be a dollar. Looks like Hijacking starts at 7 using sellers or 10 from Amazon.

Yeah, I'll find that one eventually for a 'regular price'. And I'm intrigued by Paul Rudd in a "serious" role and a podcast I listen to has raved about "Prince Avalanche" enough to give it serious consideration.

This might have been my favorite wave of blu-rays, since I already had a bunch from prior Dollar Tree shipments and Fry's. It meant there would be stuff that I didn't have to look for and wouldn't be disappointed if I didn't find it. I got lucky and found a store that had filled up the item of the week table, and put 4 unopened boxes in front of it. Of course I opened them and ended up picking up 19 blu-rays. One of the things I noticed from opening these boxes is that some of the blu-rays were mixed in with the DVDs and there was also a blu-ray only box. It seemed to me that not all the stores got heavy blu-ray shipments. The two stores closest to me sure didn't. From what I could tell, there were only a few titles that were mixed in with the DVDs: Strangerland, Puncture, What Masie Knew, one of the Ernest movies, Stolen, Are You Here. Basically the non-Magnolia titles.

Many stores didn't get any Blu-rays. It all depends on what Warehouses send regionally. I once found LED bulbs at a dollar tree while out west. I bought 25 of them. I drove there so I just drove home w/them. I've yet to ever see one in any store outside of that ONE store I saw them in in the Seattle area.

Dollar Tree is an odd beast to say the least.

definitely. I have a friend in management w/them. He's the reason I was able to get some of what I wanted at one store. I found the others at the last one around here (there are about 30) that I expected to find them at.
