We can't forget how Jason just totally teleports in the 8 film. It's so bad.

Part 4 is my favorite of the series, but part 3 sucks in my humble opinion.

I ain't hating, was just curious as I consider the first 5 all classic in their own ways. 4 is also my favorite, and 3 is the bottom of the first 5, but still loved for me. I get why many hate 5, but I love it.

A New Beginning is my favourite. I re-watched it recently with the commentary and it was so much fun.

I'll be meeting Kane at Spooky Empire in Orlando on 7 October. Ted White and Richard Brooker are definitely my favorite Jasons though.

Brooker is easily my favorite Jason in Part 3. Menacing, but then he also comes off hilariously disinterested or like he doesn't know why he even wastes his time anymore killing these idiot teens, like how he walks off after this kill:

Part 3 is my favorite (especially in proper 3-D - which I feel is essential); otherwise, it looks horribly shot in 2-D or the lousy anaglyph version, and the gimmicks they were shooting for won't work, so the whole structure of the film will suffer flat. But presented properly, so much fun, and best last girl sequence in the whole franchise.

I kind of always felt Yu's direction made him so slow and stiff. I feel like he was going for part Frankenstein's monster, part zombie, and part puppy dog.

Yep, one of the reasons I think Ronny Yu was not the right choice to helm Freddy vs. Jason.

Yes. His visual and directorial style is another reason the movie hasn't aged well in my opinion. It just doesn't feel like a Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street movie. It's just too stylized and glossy.

It's surprising to me that the majority of the folks here seem to downplay Kane Hodder's greatness.

The man is a living god and one of the greatest Americans in the history of this country. It wouldn't shock me one bit if he actually kills people in his spare time as part of his method acting philosophy.

His dedication to his craft means that much to him.

Every poll I've ever seen shows that Kane is the OVERWHELMING fan favorite.

...it's not even close.

I suspect that some people, not all people, but some, are conflating their preference for certain films in the series with their favorite Jason actor. But the fact that most of the Friday films that Kane was in sucked, has nothing to do with his performance.

...maybe it's a subconscious thing.

You mean getting a Hong Kong action director to direct one of the most anticipated American horror films of all time wasn't the right way to go?

...who could've anticipated that?

Wish you could have brought that up with everyone at New Line at the time.

when you watch freddy vs jason, you really get the feeling that ronny yu had never even seen one of these movies before

if I remember correctly, wasn't it some dumb blonde in charge at new line who recommended yu?

this crazy lady is trying to make taco bell with real steak. whats the point?

Freddy Vs Jason is actually one of my favorites of the whole series But, I'm more of a NOES guy. I think only Friday the 13th part IV would outrank it. VI might if it didn't feel so censored. I need to rewatch 3 one of these days, I barely remember that one.

New Line went with horrible writers too who didn't seem very familiar with the Friday films if they thought Jason is afraid of water.

The first release is Paramount. The newer one is the Warner rerelease.
