One of the greatest movies ever made, will be a day one purchase for me. I assume they'll finally bump the audio up to HD, too.

Movie badly needs an HD audio upgrade, I actually think the existing disc looks fine for its age but I'm sure a new 4K remaster will look exceptional. Can't wait, this is one of my favorites.

This is such a great movie. I like my current Blu-ray alright, but I'll shell out for the 4K remaster when the price comes down.

Yeah, that actually makes sense. Release it the same time as Sully and with its 25th anniversary approaching(yes, it's been THAT long).

This has to be a new scan to make UHD worth it, and hopefully the normal BD will be the remaster as well.

It's interesting because usually Warner scans IPs at 2K resolution for its "not too old" movies. a 4K OCN scan would be surprising

They did it for Goodfellas, so not that surprising especially as they presumably will be releasing more 4K titles.

Looking forward to this. Regarding early Warner blu titles, I'm hoping for a 4K remaster of The Last Samurai as well - that should look breathtaking.

Scorsese scans his movies by himself via his "Film Foundation": it's an exception like Spielberg is for Universal

Did you click the link? That is the UHD release he's linking to. As such it belongs in that section. As you said he's making assumptions of what the included BD will be like, but regardless if it's a UHD release it belongs in the UHD section. We could make new threads for several other UHD releases here too otherwise.
