Nate is a guy.
Nathaniel Grey. Named after his mother, Jean Grey.
He's from an alternate universe/future where Apocalypse ruled following Xavier's murder by his own son, Legion.
Magneto wound up leading the X-Men in this timeline.

On top of that, when you have Jennifer Lawrence as a supporting character in your franchise by freaking accident, you don't cover her up with make up either.

I don't think people understand how Fox lucked up with her in X-Men. She only got the role at the urging of her management team to get her more exposure at the time. This was before she became Katniss and WINTER'S BONE. WINTER'S BONE blows up, she gets nominated and nabs the role of Katniss RIGHT before FIRST CLASS premieres. When she shot FIRST CLASS, she was just Jennifer Lawrence, up incomer just trying tom make. When FIRST CLASS debuted, whole different story. I can almost guarantee you that Raven's arc in these films was drastically changed the moment she got that nomination and when HUNGER GAMES blew up.
This is true here. She has a allergic reaction to the body paint. Causing her to break out in boils and hives. So a bodysuit was used in the next two for safety reasons.

I thought the reason made sense. She didn't wanna ne part of a world that didn't exist and why she was in hiding from it.

Nut I guess most would have liked Amber Heard for the role. Who almost got the role if it weren't for Jen.

Also if her acting was supposed so bad. Don't you think the director or studio would call her out on it? Why would you release something that makes everybody look bad? But I guess some on here will find anything to criticize someone. I didn't know so many casting agents and directors were on here.

Not taking a side either way, but there are many, many movies that have bad acting.
Hell, all 6 star wars movies have really bad acting!
And those are some really good actors!

I don't understand this. The Mystique make-up doesn't exactly "cover" her up. You can still clearly see it's Jennifer Lawrence (Unlike whatshisface and the Beast make-up).

Yeah and she also gave a better acting performance on First Class than she did in DoFP and Apocalypse so I wouldn't exactly miss her.

Not when you're a big name star.

I think that Mystique was always intended to have a major role in the trilogy even before Jen blew up. She had a lot of screen time in First Class.

I didn't have a problem with either the paint/suit or her acting. I thought she was fine.

Yes, exactly. No matter who the actress would be. The Raven character is part of the main three with Charles and Erik.

Also she just has that deep voice too. So don't be fooled by that either.

What do you, specifically, not like about it?

I was kind of disappointed that X-Men: First Class set up a cool team of villains and X-Men to go head to head only for most of them to never be seen again.

I'm also a fan of The First Avenger. I actually begin rewatching MCU movies with it. I love the whole 40s/WWII vibe of it and it's a pretty good story. I also enjoy The Rocketeer.

I guess I'm just somebody not in my right mind then, because I found it to be a fun comic book period piece movie that respectfully, if not faithfully, gave us the origin to one of Marvel's greatest icons, with lots of action, adventure, and heart.

I also enjoyed The Rocketeer.

The First Avenger was awesome, why would somebody be confused why people liked it?

However I will defy the rest of you on The Rocketeer, which I absolutely hate. Hated it when I was a kid, hate it now. Bleck.

I haven't seen it in a long time, so I don't know how well it would hold up for me. It's a lot more light-hearted than what I would usually like, but at the time when it came out, there were only so many comic book movies that were any good, and that happened to be one of them.

I'm pretty sure the New Mutants movie is a separate film from what the next X-Men movie will be. They'll be connected in continuity, but they'll be in two different time periods with two different teams of characters.

It almost seems premature to introduce a New Mutants movie, until we establish the X-Men characters further and bring them up to the present point in time, like Deadpool is in. I'm curious to see how they do it.

The next will be in the 90's. So i'm sure Scott, Jen, Kurt and likely Jubilee will be around.

Scott, Jean, Kurt, Jubilee, and don't forget Storm.

I'm wondering if Quicksilver will appear again. Without Magneto, what's the point? I really hope they don't give us another big Quicksilver sequence as the centerpiece of the movie for a third time.

So they get 20 year olds just to have them play 30 year olds. Makes sense.....

I'm sure he will be. Seems like he's part of the team now, He's too popular a character with fans to not have him appear again.
