It's comics. Everyone rips off everyone. Nothing's original.

Of course, and one could say that for film and stories in general at this point. But people saying Strange looks like Batman Begins isn't a surprise because Strange's origin is pretty similiar to what happened with Bruce in that film. Goyer was working on a Strange script/movie for years, so obviously he took some "inspiration" from it and hence the similiarities since Marvel's sticking (close) to his original origin story.

Mid-credits sounds good and its a nice little filler as it feels like a huge gap.

So not the entire film but over half of it, which is awesome. I've already got two IMAX showings booked and if it's super amazing I'll definitely make an effort for a 3rd.

And it's unfortunate that the the end credits (or mid-credits? I'm not sure since I'm avoiding articles about it) has been revealed because people are saying it's extremely spoilery and now I'm paranoid about having it ruined before I can get to watch it. I'm gonna have to avoid looking at anything regarding the film online now, but I did avoid Civil War spoilers even though there was a fan screening a couple of weeks before it came out, so I should be ok. I'm sure everyone here will be considerate and use spoiler tags correctly if they need to discuss it, and at least I only have 10 days to go, so not too long now.
so, being filmed in IMAX, does that mean the aspect ratio will change as often as it did with GotG?
If so, I may have booked the wrong screen..... waa

U have to show him as the cocky Doctor, fall, search, develop the threat, get trained, and beat the threat.

It took Batman Begins a while before he even puts the suit on.

Dr. Strange shouldnt be rushed. His world is not the usual pew-pew+fisticuffs comic.
15-minute IMAX preview did a good job of doing all of that other than beating the threat, so I'm pretty confident the movie won't have much a problem.

Yeah, because Doctor Strange was clearly the only character to have ever traveled to a remote far away land to train and become a hero. Never. Once.

Clearly, Batman is the only character to have ever done that. Therefore, Doctor Strange shouldn't be doing it, obviously.

Reviews for this should be up in the next few days. World Premiere is 10/20, and the film is released in the UK on 10/25.

Can't wait to see how many review incorporate the words "Marvel" and "Strange" into their title in some sort of punny way. "Latest superhero outing is strangely marvelous."

Sounds more like MUSE than Michael Giacchino, but I kinda dig it.

Has anyone in the US bought their tickets for this yet? I'm still waiting for them to go on sale at my local theater.

Well it's certainly quite different. But people were just recently criticising Marvel for its generic film scores, so lets see what they think of this. It's a fairly big departure from what's been heard previously though, that's for sure. Makes me wonder how much of an impact Feige not having to go through Perlmutter from this film onward will have, they've been saying things will change, so this seems to be the first evidence of just how true that is.

Oh, that end credits music is awesome (even sounds a touch Dr Who-y by way of a sitar in the middle). I love it when we get somethin' a little different for these Marvel scores, like they cheesy-as-heck end credits for Iron Man 3.

Also, I had no idea that Giacchino was scoring this movie! Suddenly I'm much more excited for it as I love that guy's work.
