Another thing that sucks is, the HD-DVD of Matrix Revolutions does not have this problem, but the Blu-Ray does.

Hey Danfan,

Yeah, my friend who actually created that link also has the HD-DVD set and the encode error isn't on the Revolutions HD disc. This all boils down to a QC operator or operators just not catching it. A costly and unnecessary mistake. The more Warner hears about this, the more likely this will be corrected. The best way would be if they offer an exchange program.

The worst would be if this was fixed as a running change out which means when new orders are eventually filled, the corrected disc will be in those new batches from a newly created DLT. Something tells me they will do both... eventually

DVD FOREVER, I copied out your posts and some others from that previous thread and brought it to the attention of Jeff over at The Bits. He's still waiting on his copy but once he takes a look I'm hoping that he'll have some productive dialog with Warner.

I would recommend that those of you that want to see something done about this to post over in the Insider's thread about it. The more people that bring it up to Jeff and Bill the better. Just be polite!

Anyone else not notice the problem?

I was considering buying this set but now I'm not so sure. Might be better to wait for single disk releases.

Depends on your player. On the PS3, I might not have noticed it at all if I hadn't been looking for it for another poster.

Also... it's 3 frames out of a 4 movie set. I would think that wouldn't be something to hold you back, but that's just me.

heck, I haven't even replaced my Pirates of the Caribbean due to the framing issues yet. It's inexcusable, but I'm not gonna risk losing my movie in the mail for a measly 3 frames.

Ha! I forgot all about that. Yeah, I never replaced my PotC either. I don't mind it really, never noticed it until someone pointed it out. I was going to replace it until Disney asked me to mail out my disc. Too much trouble for me, so I'll stick with the "defect."

I thought I noticed some kind of similar error on one scene of the first Matrix film. When Neo is fighting Morpheus in the sparring program. Near the end of the sparring Neo's punches become blurred and rapid (like Agent Smith's punches in the Subway fight) and on the one shot from the perspective of Morpheus facing Neo, I thought his punch looked all blocked-out. Other people who own this might want to check that scene.

OMG. I couldn't imagine doing that. I must have my movies the way they are meant to be seen.

I agree with Aramis109. It's a great set and well worth the purchase. I am sure that someday soon, Warner will announce something and then they will probably have some kind of exchange. I even know someone there and have alerted him to the problem so people do know at the studio about this. You could be happy with the set for now with all the great features and of course the first two films.

I want to say that I am not 100% that this will happen but all fingers point to this being addressed at some point. Warner has been good to make sure that issues are fixed like The Superman DVD ultimate set and last years Terminator 3 Blu-ray.

Thank you Aramis109 for forwarding the info to the insider's section. That just spreads the word even further. Somehow all the people like us who have bought this will eventually get it fixed just by speaking up.

As far as not exchanging it in the mail for 3 frames, I guess it all depends on what we all think of quality on our own level. For me, it's a glaring compression error and I didn't pay $85 dollars for a set that isn't free of someone else's mistakes because it wasn't noticed by accident. 3 frames or not, it's a mistake and I don't think there is an excuse to hang on to a problem disc. Compression errors as well as misframed movies (Pirates) should all be fixed and we shouldn't have to accept anything but the best quality. :-)

Great, just what we needed, a glitch
I haven't seen the Matrix Revolution Bluray yet but I guess the glitch will be there.

It's not a compression error, it's an error on the master

We're working on it, but it's very low priority because it's not getting repressed until after the holidays and everyone is tied up in holiday mode right now

Will all three Matrix Films, the Matrix, Matrix: Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions be released as single Blu-Ray Discs next year or just the first one?
