It is sometimes hard to pin point your seat if you are deep inside your row and the theater lights are low. What pisses me off is when those assclowns turn on their flight light on their cell phone to find their damn seat and then just hover over it for a few seconds before sitting down.
During the first preview showing of TFA, one theater employee actually held the seat designated for handicap.. Would not let anyone sit there. Just before the movie started, a group of NON Handicapped people came in and sat in that spot and the employee left..WTF? Quote:

People behind you putting their feet up on the chair right next to your head is their way of saying, "**** you dude!" What is their problem?
During last year's Avengers:AOU one adult and 5 kids were sitting in the same top row we were in during the preview screening. Between the time they arrived and all thru the trailers the kids kept on going to the bathroom or leaving to get food. Instead of going to the clearly marked door leading to the bathroom they just kept on walking passed our seats. I gave the adult/father this dirty look ever time his kids kept on walking passed us and he didn't care. |

Cell phone jammers should be legal. The amount of people who scroll through their smartphone during a movie is ridiculous. It's amazing how people can be oblivious (or they just don't give a shit) to the fact that they're disturbing the rest of the audience with a bright ass screen in the pitch dark.

The Alamo seems to be the only place where they heavily enforce the no cell rule. You must have a death wish if you dare to take out your phone. I use a pebble smart watch and it is so helpful if someone calls or text as the screen is so light/dim that I can easily dismiss it without pulling out my phone. |

I don't have many problems with people in theaters anymore because I go to the earliest possible showing on a weekday. Almost zero chance of running into teenagers and college kids (I'm actually a college kid myself, but I have the utmost respect for people, especially in a theater).
Back when I'd go to a showing on a weekend at night with some friends, I had zero issue telling people to shut up if they were being disruptive. They'd take one look at my group and shut right up. My friends were pretty big and intimidating. |

I've been blessed so far. Every time I've gone to see a movie recently the audience has been very nice and respectful. Now take Fantastic Beasts Doctor Strange today where we all laughed and even applauded at certain points, but that is to be expected. That is the kind of thing that can elevate a moviegoing experience from good to freaking awesome when you catch onto, and share, a reaction with everyone around you. Now, I did have a time where I went to see Catching Fire. It was a late evening show. Two people came walking in THIRTY FREAKING MINUTES into the film and proceeded to just carry on a conversation for about TWENTY MINUTES with me having to hear the constant buzz of their voices and not being able to work up the guts to say anything, but boy I wish I had had them today because I would have. They got up and left after twenty minutes of sitting and conversing. #Rude and I have to wonder if they even paid to be in there. I swear that they had gotten out of some other movie and decided to troll us.

I've done this quite a few times over 20+ years. I usually just turn and say "can you keep it down please?" I'm a six foot 250 pound guy with a beard though, so it's not really something I worry about. Usually it works, especially with adults.
One time, I believe when I saw Quantum of Solace, a woman was literally describing the movie to a man the whole time. I turned and asked her to be quiet and she snapped at me "he's disabled!" I don't know if she meant mentally or visually or what, but I accepted that and turned back around. Though I have to say, I wouldn't go to the theater if I needed my mom to describe the movie to me. |

Back when Real Steel came out we saw it at one of the movie theater screens that just went to digital imax. The sound in that theater is LOUD. During the entire movie this one dude at the end of the row kept on talking throughout the entire movie on his cell phone. It's a ****ing 2 hour movie blasting at a high volume....how the hell can you go to a movie to talk on your cell the entire time??? After the movie was over, he got up and continued his conversation...my god he proved that it is possible for one to hold a conversation on the phone for 2 hours and get away with it.

I once told some Chatty Cathy "bros" to "Go home and torrent the movie if you're not gonna shut up." I think that was during Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They did shut up.
Two little girls came tearing in chasing each other and screaming during the third act of Kubo & the Two Strings. I bellowed "This isn't a playground, get outta here!" and they took seats and weee quiet. They weren't in there before. No clue where they came from. |

The most annoying thing is people talking on their cell phones. They do it loudly, unapologetically.
Last year, when watching The Martian, right after the beautiful David Bowie song montage, a young dude who was sitting near me began talking on his phone, complaining the movie was too long and that he was hungry - he actually stood up and didn't even bother going to the aisle! |

Easily the worst experience of this I've had was going to the first showing of Star Wars EP 3 where a guy was talking loudly on his phone before the movie started about all the spoilers he'd read. No one was happy with that person, think someone actually got a member of staff and had him thrown out, long time ago though.

I haven't had a problem till yesterday, as I go to the earliest viewings possible as the theater is always quiet and relatively empty, but yesterday I had to go in the evening and had a problem with 2 loud talking persons who didn't give a **** that other persons were sitting there as well. I tried to stop them, but all i got was a big mouth return and they kept on talking. Really annoyed me, so no more evening viewings for me
