I should have placed the order on the Black Friday sale ignoring the fact that I have already spent way too much this year

I guess I have to push my luck. If it sold out until the next sale, I forfeited my chance.
The discs will still be available in the standard edition, which also has one of the essays from the booklet and a apparently a slipcover too. This LE just has premium packaging, a thicker hardback booklet, a poster, art cards, and DVD copies.

Arrow didn't say it's sold out though, just that they'll be running out of their allocation of stock soon. Amazon, HMV, Zavvi and elsewhere will still have some copies for a while now.

No, just part of the booklet. Specifically, one essay. The LE booklet is much thicker (see the specs).

No chance of it being in the next sale, I'd imagine. Maybe not until the summer.

I think he wants to buy it in the next sale (if still available) to get double points.

It looks like Runaway Train is being re-released in about two months. It can be preordered for 19.99 at Amazon with release date January 30.

Missed your post a from a few days ago. Thanks for the hint. I saw it on Amazon and was quite relieved that I don't have to buy the expensive oop disc.

The only real downside is the lack of a booklet, obviously, but that's something we're gonna have to get more and more used to - I'm looking to get titles like Videodrome, Deep Red, A Bay of Blood, The Beyond, and the separate Allen/Fassbinder titles and Battles Without Honour and Humanity/Female Prisoner Scorpion titles, and knowing that none of those will include booklets.

The Kino release of Bay of Blood is much better than the Arrow, and the US Grindhouse Releasing version of The Beyond is a much better package.

I'm not looking to import these. Just interested in picking them up in a sale/offer at some point, and noticed they're now missing booklets.

That's a good generous idea. You don't happen to have Coffy by any chance?

Has the Coffy booklet gone already? I must've been lucky with that one...

Runaway Train could use a typically-excellent Arrow restoration a la To Live and Die In L.A., which looks fantastic. Anyone care to speculate why Arrow is re-releasing this film? A 2 or 4K scan would be great but since it's coming out relatively soon I suppose it won't be any sort of remaster (unless they've been quietly working on it for a while).

I would guess it's their now typical re-issue without booklet and with flipped cover art but for some reason it got a new listing rather than replacing the old one. Maybe there's a rights reason for that, but it could just be a quirk.

I think the previous reissues have actually been described as "HMV Exclusive" but were soon available from Arrow and Amazon as well. Maybe it's just the release date of a new print-run, so people aren't scrabbling around worrying these titles will go OOP (as Phenomena did, which I missed, and a couple of others I can't recall).

Maybe they've removed the extras produced by Calum Waddell?

I have both of Arrows releases of King of New York, duel format with booklet and blu ray release without. Although the same the latter feels cheap, less weighty and lacking, it's a real shame Arrow seem to be going down this road.

I'd gladly pay an extra euro or two to keep the dvd and booklet, makes it feel more complete where as with the blu ray only release it feels as you can remove the disc and place it in a folder, chuck the case in the bin and save space.

I will also add I NEVER use the DVDs or read the booklet but I still want them

Arrow sent Donnie Darko to the wrong address... AGAIN.

:/.

Great!

Looks like I wont be getting it now, no way I can get to the address they sent it too and no idea why that address was used when I have been using my new address for a year and bought many items since I moved...
