After reading the Dark Phoenix Saga,
[Show spoiler]and seeing the retcon they shafted on us in Days of Future Past
, I want to see a proper X-Men movie with Dark Phoenix in it.

Also, what about a Ghost in the Shell movie? Or that Prometheus sequel Ridley Scott told us about!?

I thought I saw a GITS live action movie rumored somewhere. I'm sure plans fell through, just like they did with Akira and Eva.

I thought a Prometheus sequel was on its way as well. Last I saw, imdb listed it for 2016 or 17 or so.

As much as I don't want to happen, I just know that one day we're going to get an Indiana Jones reboot. We don't need one, and I'm pretty sure most of us don't want one, but Disney doesn't strike me as the type of studio to just sit on a property like that.

I've never heard that before but it makes a ton of sense, in a desperate, shallow Hollywood kind of way. You may be on to something there.
Makes me think of the whole TuPac/Coachella hologram thing. Some people actually thought he was there. Of course they were probably on something but it was effective, nonetheless.

Since we've seen a Grumpy Cat movie, an Annoying Orange series, and an entire movie focused around those annoying Minions, here are some Internet-based ideas I bet we'll be seeing soon on the big screen (or on demand or even basic cable).

Meme Generator: The Movie - those image-based memes that went out of style a few years back but keep being resurrected by people behind the times.

Deez Nuts - the fictional Presidential candidate that was a big deal for all of five minutes last year.

The Antoine Dotson Story - "Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband!"

The Mountain Dew Name the New Flavor Contest - 4chan vs. Pepsico. The rare case where you want to the big corporation to win.

Gawker Media v. Terry "Hulk" Hogan - oh, wait. There's a documentary at the forthcoming Sundance on this case.

Flame War - when an argument on a simple opinion goes way too far.

I'm surprised there hasn't been one yet. There was more than enough source material long before he ever ran for president.

So these posts are two years old...I'll respond anyway. This whole concept was the premise behind the movie S1m0ne, in which a desperate producer makes up a virtual actress and manages to convince the world she's real.

With efforts to de-age actors digitally (Tron: Legacy ), and that commercial where Audrey Hepburn was animated digitally, having a full-blown virtual actor/actress is bound to happen in real life eventually, it's only a matter of time.

I never thought we would see a Bad Santa 2.

The sequel to 2011's 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' will be based on the fourth book in the series about computer hacker Lisbeth Salander.
As it goes about relaunching its Girl With the Dragon Tattoo franchise, Sony Pictures is looking at Uruguay-born Fede Alverez to direct a new installment, The Girl in the Spider's Web, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Alverez, repped by WME and Anonymous Content, enjoyed a hit this summer when his horror pic Don’t Breathe, from Sony’s Screen Gems unit, scared up $151.4 million worldwide.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, released in 2011, was based on the first of the three detective novels about journalist Mikael Blomkvist and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, which were written by Stieg Larsson, who died in 2004. The new film project would be based on the fourth book in the series, which was written by David Lagercrantz and released in 2015 and quickly acquired by Sony.

Stephen Knight is adapting the novel for the screen, with Scott Rudin, Amy Pascal, Elizabeth Cantillon and Eli Bush producing along with Ole Sondberg and Soren Staermose of the production company Yellow Bird, which earlier produced a trilogy of Swedish films out of the original novels. David Beaubaire will oversee production for the studio.
