are you sure? i know older versions of nero and other software don't support burning from network shares, but i'm confident the later versions of nero do (ie v7). all my ISO files are stored on one burnerless PC and must therefore be burnt off a different PC, always via LAN.
i think nero automatically reduces burning speed on-the-fly or pre-caches files if the network is too slow. ever since i noticed nero 7 supported network burning i've been doing it.

NaTaS, what software came with the burner?
