Can fingerprints damage the top part of a blu ray/dvd disc?

I always manipulate my Blu-rays with my teeth so fingerprints aren't an issue.

Any joke aside, there's no reason for fingerprints on top of the disc (on the printed side) damages the data side of it. There probably is a way higher likelihood for the inks in the printing to damage the data before !
