Respectfully, I hope Spartacus isn't released by Criterion. The 2015 release with Robert Harris' immaculate restorative work gives fans of the film a definitive release.

There are too many other great films that are in dire need of an upgrade.

This.
The new Spartacus is definitive.

I woke up from a dream in which A New Hope was released by Criterion. None of the others (yet, at this point) but we were definitely getting all original footage and a full remaster. Sorry to break the flow with this foolishness.

Saw Videodrome for the first time. Holy cow that was great. And how relevant in 2017! Everyone walking around with an electronic screen stuck to their face. That theory in the film about how the electronic screen literally becomes an extension of the body so the mind is programmed with ease. Cronenberg was decades ahead of his time.

Hopefully they get their account suspended. They've been a member since 1999 with 100% positive feedback, they should know better than to sell unauthorized copies on ebay. They did the same with Warner Archive, and other vaulted releases too.

This New Year's drawing has a lot more stumpers than past ones. Still don't have a clue what the "T" in the back is for, or the window.

i'm looking at the listing now - it'd be a strange purchase, considering whoever bought would have to check everything, which would take a lifetime, and probably back everything up, which would be another big expense. i've been meaning to back up my collection, but it'd be an enormous time expense

At this point, no one is going to say that a WB-owned property can't come from Criterion. Criterion had said a couple of years ago that they had come to some kind of arrangement with Warner, but were coy about just what exactly that meant. Suggestions about some pre-Code films.

If it was just The In-Laws, I might still be a little dubious, but add to that Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, The Asphalt Jungle, and Mildred Pierce, and it's clear that they really do have an arrangement.

(Though I'm still miffed that Bad Day at Black Rock went to WAC instead of going back into The Collection. Or at least that WAC didn't arrange for the John Sturges commentary from the Criterion LD.)

One part of it is at least "Marry S", which is meant for "Marius", part of the Pagnol's Marseille trilogy, along with César, and Fanny. I do think the dress is so uniquely ornate that it could be for something else too.

There's also been guesses about it also being Princess Bride (Prince "S Bride"), but I don't know where the Prince part would come from.

Speculation is that's the "Marius" part of Cesar, Fanny, and Marius.

The "S" is drawn with dashes, like an "air" S. The Heiress?

With regards to The Pricncess Bride, this image does make it look kind of similar in styling to the drawing.

Anyone who would even consider buying that is as dumb as the seller is for considering it legal.
