Hahah yeah seriously I think the hardest level was the 2 lap race, I totally forgot about that. That drove me crazy, but in retrospect it was so easy.

9/10 times for every level it's just stupid mistakes that can get people killed, or REALLY bad luck.

When I was first trying to ace the last level with the Ninja(the one where you have to use the flaming cat), I killed "Terrible Oni", and his body parts came flying and one tiny piece of flame debris landed directly on top of me and killed me. Another time in that level, the way he died caused his sword to be pointing upwards into the air over the area you have to jump over, and it was impossible to jump over it without landing on the sword.

That kind of randomness is awesome when looking back on it, but terribly frustrating when it's working against you.

I have to say, on one had, I wasn't thrilled about 1.99 for the motorstorm costume, but the gloves and pants/boots alone are very useful for other outfits.

I'm sure I'm missing some stuff, but before that the only dark gloves I had were the medussa ones from the GoW pack, and there aren't much options in black pants/boots either.

Every time I put on the shark one I want to say in a high-pitched voice "I say we let the shark go" like in the Robot Chicken Steven Spielberg's "enhanced" re-release of Jaws skit.

Would gladly give you pointers for each, if that's what you're asking for. As for playing alongside with you, that might make things harder. If anyone in your party dies, you lose the ace.

I've aced that huge wheel level twice now.

First time took me about 40 mins. Second time yesterday I'd just got the 4x player prizes and was replaying in single player for the end-of-level all prize bubbles bonus and made it through without any deaths, first time through!

Gah! I am still stuck on it, although I haven't had much time to play lately.

Can anyone give me a hint for The Darkness level. I'm at the part where there's a large bat swinging around and a really long jump over spikes. I've tried several times now and can't make that jump. I get close but don't make it. I also tried grabbing the skull in the middle a couple of times but that didn't work either. So, am I supposed to be able to make that jump and I'm just not timing it properly or is there some other way around that.

Edit: Nevermind. I guess I just missed grabbing it earlier.

I think you jump over the bat once it hits the bottom of the ground and onto the skull. You might need to do a good running start, i think thats how i passed that part. hope this helps!

Hey guys, in my spare time I knocked up a couple of levels, try them out if you like.

Comfy Sofa World which is a kind of assault course (good for 2p too).
and "The Gion Festival" which is based on a huge festival they have here in Japan. (it is about 80% complete tho and I am still building out the end of it)

Comfy Sofa World: Emitter warnings and balloons release were nice touches. When going right to left later in the level there's an awkward jump off an angled platform, I made it once but died getting squashed between the rocket up arrow and the last swing grab piece. The awkward jump was even harder now that the first swinging grab piece wasn't still.

The Gion Festival: Appreciated the up/down swing shortcut after completing section the first, long way. Love the ninja's but a couple of times the sword I was grabbing fell off. Fewer, bigger ideas than your first level works better for me.

Hey guys.... finally finished a level I was proud of... Please play and let me know what ya think, put it up yesterday and only have 2 plays on it so far, its hard to get your level noticed I guess, so could use some help with hearts and whatnot to get some trophies.

The Great Pyramid- Find your way through the dangerous pyramid full of secret rooms, traps, and lots of prizes. Find the secret entrance to the mummy's tomb and then find your way through the underground maze to discover the mummy's tomb filled with prizes. 4 custom prizes and lots of point bubbles. A challenging course with replay value to get 100% complete.

Last night/this morning on GAF the LBP thread there BLEW UP. It seems LBP has taken away Azure(sp) Palace and The World of Colour (WTF?), and the Japanese Tetris level for good as they have completely disappeared. The guy who did the Azure Palace posts on GAF and he spent WEEKS on it to have it simple disappear in a day. He was also just to post a new level, something this game should ENCOURAGE people to do, but wont until things get straightened out. Also, alot have people have wanted to see what was next from the guy who did the GOW level...fat chance now as they have taken TWO (which, judging by playing them, took him days to do) of his levels away. And you guys better play that Gradius level why you can because if Tetris was pulled you most certainly know that will be next.

I mean, come on MM. I can see you wanted to get rid of the GOW level with the sacrifices and blood stains but um, doesn't your own levels (I'm thinking the samurai levels here) have blood splatters by the spikes, traps, on the wall, etc. Look at yourselves first and show us as an example what to do. But anyway, I understand that one. I also understand Tetris because of copyright. I get those two. But World Of Colour? A level that was FEATURED on your main blog, that you had an INTERVIEW with the creator and mentioned it again, a level that was an original idea and not copyrighted in anyway, what you say you want, gets deleted just like that!? Man, you guys need to rethink some things and FAST. Christmas is just a month away. Your going to lose out big time if you don't act fast.

Anyway, some GAF forum goers have written MM on this (alot in fact) and one wrote that if MM modded the GOW level for the blood smears then they should release a patch for levels where they (the game makers themselves) have placed blood smears to remove them from the levels. While this is extreme, I get the point and support it. MM should lead us by example. We as creators have been put off by so much that most of us will not create until things are fixed and MM should lead by example. Don't have anything in your levels that you will punish us for having in ours. MM is taxing alot of the best creators for this game. I will be VERY surprised if the GOW guy makes another level in this game ever again, sadly.

Sad days in LBP.

Wow, this has now made official headlines on major gaming sites. That link has more on the story for you, a video walk through of Azure Palace so you can figure out for yourself why it need to be modded, and a petition to sign.

Sign the petition ( I did). The good news about this story hitting a major gaming news site and the petition is that MM will get this issue fixed faster now its in the public eye.

I'm putting my money on the idea that someone with nothing better to do decided to report some of these levels, and they got taken down without any sort of investigation. At least I hope that's the case, because then it can simply be fixed by making someone at Mm actually look at stuff before it's taken down.

I've played Azure Palace a few times, but never can figure out where to go. I know there were those two statues you can grab, and I thought you had to put them on the colored platform, but who knows.

Anyhow, it's a shame because a week ago when they were taking down stuff due apparently to IP infringement, some people were glad that it would (to paraphrase) "force people to make more original levels, like Azure Palace and World of Colour".

This is getting out of hand. I bet MM is wondering why they ever got into the business of open content online - I wouldn't want to police this stuff.

The first problem: - was trying to keep it "family only" content. They should have made a rating system - otherwise, you run into being the moral police and judging "art". Release a rating system available to the creator, and user's and allow a parental locking system for those who wish to block "blood smears" etc.

Second problem: - showcasing levels with obvious ties to other games - and then only after the game is released coming down with a hammer on "fan" art/games. And really, it is still unclear - can people "parody" or not?

Hope they straighten this out - LBP is all about creating and sharing and fun. If you take away the sharing, people will stop creating and it won't be fun anymore.
