The game is actually pretty good (and nearly had a sequel) - if it hadn't been for the stupid damage you take when going outside (which puts you off exploring) which ruins a good deal of it, it would've been kinda great.

Seriously, I could not be more rigidly upright over this news as I've never upgraded my old DVD release. I do hope they make use of the original artwork as per below. Personally I hate the photo montages that adorn most re-releases. That SF Factory release of The Thing had horrendous cover art.

I got so far into the game, but then found one of the bosses to be a bit of a game killer. I was enjoying it, too!

I'm sure the original art is on the reverse side like always. Isn't this the case with all of the SF releases as well?

Hope so. Was it on the whenever it was released non-Anamorphic USA Collector's Edition DVD and the Signature Whatever-Universal-Called-It LD where it's uncensored?
Struzan is one of my favorite movie poster artists. Even made a ton of great covers for the Bantam Books Indiana Jones 1990's paperback series. Had tons of his posters when I still had them. Lost them in a flood in late 2013. (Had around 120~140 posters total.) Last edited by Ray_Rogers; 01-25-2017 at 06:48 PM. |

Yeah it wasn't any fun. Only a scant few were originals and the rest reprints. Thankfully none of my DVDs, HD DVDs, Blu-rays, PC games, CDs and books weren't damaged. Well, only a couple of them were.
Had a ton of Indiana Jones posters too. Obviously THE THING and other 1980's greats including both versions of EXCALIBUR among many others. Haven't even been rebuying them due to my focus on Community College with my major and discs. (Digital Media - Web Design. I could make many custom coverarts for Blu-ray disc but I procrastinate on it too much. Have all the templates and fonts too.) Oh well, shit happens. ![]() Hoping the booklet will have tons of great articles from the likes of Cinefex and Fangoria. Would even love a segment of the features to cover the PC/PS2/XBOX PHAT video game. (The Thing from Another World IS on Blu-ray disc. Available from Japan but it's cut and the image quality isn't all too great. Rather wait for uncut and best image quality. Of course the 1982 John Carpenter feature is far closer in terms of faithful adaptations go to the adherence to the novella Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell Jr. Less mentioned about the 2011 prequel the better, even though it's ok, not good.) Last edited by Ray_Rogers; 01-25-2017 at 06:45 PM. |
