Could I take a guess that Fox changed their minds on giving you Two For The Road (with Audrey Hepburn), which out of coincidence was given to another label and is due out very soon?

Or it could've been "The Angry Red Planet", which MGM gave to Shout! instead since it was "schlocky" enough for their tastes.

Trying to think of highly requested films that have never been released. I wonder if it was The Keep or Looking for Mr. Goodbar!

But i'm so thrilled Kino is releasing Carax's The Lovers on the Bridge in March. The fireworks montage is incredible.

Probably Goodbar, but The Keep is also a possibility. It's got to be a film that was NOT given to another company.

Mr Lime previously said they wouldn't have had Goodbar given to them anyway as there were music clearance issues.

Mr. Lime: Is Choose Me part of the new MGM deal, and if not, do you know if it's with another studio?

It bugs me that THE BABYSITTER with William Shatner & Patty Duke is on the MGM HD channel 2-3 times every month yet it's still MIA on DVD. Apparently MGM thinks highly of it.

No worries, I didn't intend to put you in a difficult position. I just figured if it was a title you couldn't release anyway, there was no big deal in saying what it was.

Maybe the theatrical cut of The Alamo? I hear the Director's Cut needs major restoration which MGM refuses to give money to, but the theatrical cut might be in good shape. I saw it on TV (HD), and it didn't look bad at all.

Had the same thing. Bought three Chuck Norris blus (don't judge me) and got two in one box, then two weeks later got the third. The first package slip said it was all three, but wasn't.

Even though these titles are typically Kino-centric, they only fit a certain demographic. I take Misterlime's description of "highly requested" to mean a broader audience - meaning it could be anything from 1950 to 1990.

Funny, I've never seen anything either in print or an interview that specifically talks about Michael Mann "disowning" the film. Can you post a link to an article where Mann trashes the film?

My guess for the mystery title: The Abyss. lol

Maybe Song Of The South? now that would be odd.

I'd say the one that would have the best chance to get licensed out would be "True Lies". Such a politically correct world we live in now, it wouldn't surprise me if Fox is shy of releasing it themselves. They could have licensed it out and changed their minds, but yeah "The Abyss" is possible since it was announced for release and now nothing.

My first guess would also be "the abyss"... That's one highly requested title, and i could understand how they would be happy not having confirmed it..

Michael Mann has weirdly separated himself from THE KEEP. Several people have approached him to revisit the film in a special home video edition and he has turned it down.
I personally have, and I know a person who has made a documentary on the making of the film with interviews from the crew and cast. I arranged a copy of the film to be sent for a screening to gain support of this happening - yet Mann as always stays clear.
Currently I have a banner on m site to the person who is spear heading the documentary for financial support.
Mann is a strange egg, always giving excuses to stay away. He can't concentrate on more than one thing at a time - saying his new project won't allow him time.
Strange really, it's really just another film that offers him a sure shot memory when he passes - and he is throwing it away. The cast is ready and willing to aid.
What's really wanted is a finalized edition of the film, completely re-done as it was originally intended. It can be reconstructed now, digitally to a finished product. From what I've been told the footage is all there waiting.
It's a strange situation.

Same here, it's one of the few remaining titles on my unreleased want list!
