Thanks to everyone for all the info and updates regarding the Amazon / WB deal.

What's great is that in my eyes I got almost every one of these I really wanted when the price was right. Over a good amount of years.

Make a list and get the price tracker going, and then when it's what you can spend, grab it.

These aren't Criterions here, so I really don't feel bad for folks that waited for them to drop to, what, $2.99 or something like that before they're now apparently OOP?

Anyway, glad so many of you finally were able to grab, before the prices skyrocketed... Congo???

For Thrashin, it could be low stocks on Amazon's end and are waiting to get more, which sends the indication to some sellers of possible

I actually bought 2 DVD's from that Paramount/WB list. The Bellboy (Jerry Lewis) and Prophecy (1979). Prophecy is a blind buy and looks like a cheesy movie with bad horror effects. Right up my alley. Couldn't find any place to rent it so thought, what the heck.

Ha ha... the entire thing is on Youtube:

Decided to pick up:

The Addams Family
Wayne's World 1 & 2
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
Once Upon A Time In The West
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

Better to pick them up now for a reasonable price than be kicking myself if they go OOP permanently.

I broke down and ordered a copy of Eurotrip. That's a BD I've never seen in stores (like Team America). I noticed that prices are going up on a lot of these on Amazon. Flashdance is $20 if ordered directly from Amazon.

A couple days ago I ordered: Congo, The Score, Galaxy Quest, Trading Places, Paycheck and Serpico. Just now I ordered: Fatal Attraction, Ghost, American Gigolo and Sahara. Left on my wishlist are: The Untouchables, Tropic Thunder, Black Sunday (DVD) and Prohecy (DVD).

I can't imagine them letting Untouchables go OOP and the transfer still sucks and I still have the movie memorized. No rush there. Tropic Thunder would be a blind-buy, I don't usually get comedies but it seems up my alley. The two DVDs I am hoping will get BDs eventually. I'm scared to look at the list again, I probably missed a few I care about, but I think I own all the rest I want.

Note: This is all me having the money and figuring I might as well. I don't think most need to rush and get this much shit. Paramount or their new partner will surely keep stuff like Serpico and Ghost in print.

PROPHECY is flat out one of the worst pieces of crap from a major studio and major "talent" (Frankenheimer, the Omen writer) imaginable. It is gloriously awful and has several laugh out loud moments. Enjoy! (Wish it was on Blu-Ray!!).

Totally. But, as you said, better safe than sorry.

I ordered Presidio, Shaft, Congo & Jennifer 8 myself.
I already owned The Score, Primal Fear, Paycheck, American Gigolo, Untouchables & Serpico.

But now that I saw your list, I might as well pick up Sahara in the future (because I enjoyed it when I watched it a few years ago on TV), but I'll probably get the german disc.

Thanks for your answer!

It's an awesome B movie which reminded me of some Hammer films (and to me, it says a lot!)

Yep, and I'm guilty of buying into the fear as well. Just ordered Ghost and Escape From L.A. from Amazon.

However again, to be super clear, Paramount could easily print more like they did with The Warriors. I'm not trying to panic anyone, just saying if you have the cash and want some obscure titles you might want to buy them now just in case. Don't rush to get that ugly Untouchables disc, they'll print more or license it out surely.
I guess it depends on the area. I've regularly done local ebay searches for oop blus and there is rarely a title listed within 40 miles or so from here. Even a used copy of Willow sat on the shelf unsold around here for at least a month for under ten dollars, which kind of surprised me. So I'll definitely pay attention to these Paramount titles but am in no panic by any means with how common many of them are in local shops. I just looked through the entire back catalog and there are only about 4-5 I need at this point.

I live in a pretty big metro area but most of the used shops around me never have OOP stuff. I did find Short Circuit in an FYE though. Still, I largely agree. There is no reason to panic buy these because I think there are many out there which will keep OOP prices down, and also I expect Paramount or their new partner to quickly print more of most of them like the did The Warriors.

However if you have the money and don't care you might want to get some of the more obscure ones, in case they don't get printed again. That's all I think anyone is saying.

I'd say the movies that sold well will be reissued. If it's a film with a small fanbase it might be a good plan to grab it now.

those are 2 on my list to buy next week. Actually I'll put my list here so if anyone can chime in with their opinions on future availability can do so.

Serpico
Along Came A Spider
Jennifer 8
Escape From Alcatraz (region free import)
Staying Alive (DVD)
Payback
Once Upon A Time In The West
Congo
Saturday Night Fever
Wayne's World
Wayne's World 2
Major League
Hatari!
El Dorado
Galaxy Quest
World Trade Center

Any glaring omissions, or titles anyone thinks will be in print forever please chime in. Money is tight, so I really want to get the ones that might not come back. Thanks in advance.

It's just my 2 cents 'though, but I certainly didn't take any chances myself.
I love both of these B movies (a lot!), so I guess it helps with paying 14.98$ for each of them

I'm afraid I won't be of any help for the other ones...
I would just say that some of them were released worldwide (at least in Europe) so you might want to import and prefer buying the other titles instead, if you're tight on money right now.
For example, I know that the 2 titles I picked from your list weren't released anywhere else at this point...
