Pretty solid haul I think.

I wanted Death Wish, but I'll have to hope that I get lucky and pick it up for cheap or wait for a reprint.

I kept ignoring Internal Affairs because I remember not liking it on a VHS rental, but I was a kid then, and it's right in my wheelhouse. Screw it. Ordered. Thanks for the push.

P.S. I got Jennifer 8 from Amazon Canada today. Expensive shipping but hey, you get it in a couple days.

Hi I just want to check if Breathe In (2013) is OOP? Amazon doesn't seem to sell it anymore and the price from the marketplace is outrageous ($250!).

If that isn't your listing, there's one on amazon listed "like new" which I might have grabbed when I saw it this morning (after seeing this thread and checking "care level" on the sites, like new vs new tells a lot) for cheaper than that, if I cared.

I wish I caught this earlier. I have the boxset with parts 2 - 4. I wish I would have bought part 1 when I had the chance. It was always expensive to me, but now it's ridiculously expensive.

I don't fully understand what happened with this Paramount deal. I guess I need to look at that long list closely and decide which ones I can't live without.

On top of Paramount likely reprinting many, another reason I said not to freak out too much with all these is that I bet a lot of them never get super high in price. There's only so many people who want to own shit like Congo on blu-ray.

I don't think that really matters. All that matters is scarcity, and that there were at least SOME people looking for the OOP title. I mean logic would dictate that if "only so many people want to own shit like Congo", then Warner might not have printed nearly as many copies of Congo as say, something like the Untouchables (which already had a Paramount release - and would also be far more certain to be reprinted).

I remember one of the early/crazy OOP titles being Blades of Glory. I think people paid like $275 for that at one point. Now, this is a different era in the blu-ray market and that title had it's own reasons for shooting up in price - so of course I'm not saying Congo could ever compare to that. I'm just illustrating it doesn't always have anything to do with the quality of the film.

I think demand does play a part. Most people (if they are interested at all) would be fine with streaming an indie film like Breathe In, Felicity Jones notwithstanding. Just because a seller wants $250 for a film doesn't mean anyone is going to pay that.

The truth is that every Blu-ray will eventually be out of print. You could go crazy (and broke) trying to buy every movie before it goes out of print.

Ha, that's a judgement call. If you like a film, you like it, who cares what some stranger on the internet thinks (the same goes for books, music & food).
