Okay, there's some positive spin. Still a little gutted that is Disney and I'm still not getting The Ref but yeah, okay, that could be pretty cool.

What are the possibilities? Dare we hope for "The Muppet Show"? (Now I saw Mister Lime's update, so I'd say even less likely, but I didn't really think that felt like a Kino release anyway.)
I vote for Moonlighting.

Not to threadcrap, but just a general qualm with the pricing of Kino Lorber (and even Olive Films) releases, if these were priced at less than $10, I would pick up a SIGNIFICANTLY greater number of their releases, including MANY blind buys, than I do now at the current prices.

Heck, if there was some type of membership with a commitment to buy a certain number of titles at less than $10, I'd probably sign up.

That, and the fact that he posted the same batch of movies that he's posted before, which included several Universal titles that Kino has no access to.

Not to postcrap, but if you think Kino's and Olive's prices are bad, is it a stretch to assume that there are no Criterions or Twilight Times in your collection? No new releases either?

Kino's prices are actually pretty reasonable all things considered, not to mention they have sales on Amazon rather frequently.

STRANGE VENGEANCE OF ROSALIE
ADAM AT SIX A.M.

Someone earlier in the thread was saying that Heartbreak Kid wasn't one of the ABC titles owned by Disney now.
I don't know if that info is accurate or not, but this film is VERY high on my most wanted list now too. I really hope Kino has access to it because it's a classic that needs more exposure.
I also hope this deal means Hell In The Pacific is in play also which I'm expecting will look smashing in HD.

Wasn't expecting the Disney owned entities, so this is really outstanding news as it didn't look like Disney would ever get around to releasing that stuff- seeing as how even their studio classics get relegated to their exclusive 'club'.

Will be great to see the Kolchak films which should almost certainly be part of this deal (though I really want to see Uni remaster the series with new from film transfers).

I think even Duel In The Sun might be in their somewhere.

Great going Kino! Onward and upward!

You can pick most of them up at $12.99-14.99 at some point. I've even picked some up for 8 or 9 bucks. Not sure how much cheaper you want them. None of them are limited edition, so you can pick them up at your leisure when the best price becomes available. Just monitor Amazon, Deep Discount, and Kino's website.

Yes, The Heartbreak Kid is owned by the Bristol-Myers/Squibb people and they refuse to license their small library (which also includes Sleuth and the original Stepford Wives).

These titles were last released by Anchor Bay but that was from an old licensing agreement from the Media days.

Yup. I can certainly relate to thinking that I'd have a lot more of these if they were nine bucks instead of twelve or fifteen because, well, I would have a lot more of these if they were nine bucks instead of twelve or fifteen.

But twelve bucks is not unreasonable.

@MisterLime,

Thank you for sharing the information. You are a gentleman and a scholar!

There is one title I would want but I think they did release it on DVD, and its a title nobody else would request: 1998's The Minion w/ Dolph Lundren, it was an acquisition through Touchstone.

Curse of the Black Widow is a guilty pleasure as well as the Kolchaks. I'd be happy just with those three.

Hmmmm... I wonder then if there are some Walt Disney Pictures branded titles that were never released on DVD by Disney in the deal

Walt Disney Pictures titles without a Buena Vista US DVD release:

[Show spoiler]
Song of the South (1946) - Cold day in hell status
The Sign of Zorro (1960)
Nikki, Wild Dog of the North (1961) - DVD released by Anchor Bay only
Run, Cougar, Run! (1972)
One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing (1975)
A Tale of Two Critters (1977)

Also:

Popeye (1980) - EDIT: Apparently still with Paramount in the US.
Dragonslayer (1981) - EDIT: Apparently still with Paramount in the US.

Even if any of these were in the cards, it still leaves 80+ titles in the deal. So there simply must be more titles from the ABC Pictures and Selznick libraries than what online resources list (which put the totals for those libraries at ~50), or the deal may include a fair amount of TV movies.

You joking me? Man!

The only hope now is if Criterion can do something about it.

Paramount still owns Popeye and Dragonslayer in the US while Disney owns international rights. If those two were to get BDs, Olive (no pun intended) would have a better chance at putting them out in the US since their deal with Paramount includes stuff that was previously released on DVD.

Any chances for an upgrade of the silent 1924 version of "Peter Pan." You did put out a DVD many years under license from Disney (Disney got the rights to this silent when it acquired the screen rights to Peter Pan from Paramount in the 1930s).
For that matter, how about an upgrade for "Nothing Sacred"? The blu-ray you have now is sourced from David Selznick's personal nitrate print, but Disney does have the rights to the original Technicolor negative.
Finally, I would love to pick up a blu of "Portrait of Jennie."

Buscemi, do you know what else is in the Bristol Meyers-Squib "film library?"

At least SLEUTH plays on cable TV. I haven't seen HEARTBREAK KID on cable in a very long time. I'm fortunate to still have a copy of the Anchor Bay DVD, widescreen but not anamorphic.

Well, if Heartbreak Kid is out of play, then I would take They Shoot Horses, Don't They over any of the legit possible titles mentioned today, nothing else is even close.
