Warlock was with Lionsgate maybe now with Fox and Dragonslayer is with Paramount. Neither is too likely.

The New Line movies that were produced by Warner with be with them forever, but the ones that werent such as The Lawnmower Man can eventually be licensed when rights expire.

Spend that hundred on a region-free player and get the much better Arrow disc!

I sold off my Night of the Comet on ebay marked as very good. The guy who won the auction wasnt happy the slip wasnt mint and asked me for a $10 refund!, i only sold it for $24, fuming wasnt the word. I wouldnt have minded as much if i hadnt had posted photos or he had even asked beforehand.

Yeah the slip lovers on Ebay are too anal to deal with IMO. I advertise the slip but even if it looks mint I don't focus on it and say it has wear. I just don't want to deal with complaints about it.

This is why when I've sold slips, or other collector items on eBay, I take plenty of zoomable, well lit, clear pics and write a very specific note that all sales are final, being sure to list any defects and if you don't like what you see in the pics then don't bid. Between that and mailing with double stacked pieces of cardboard boxes cutouts(front and back) in the padded mailer, w/tracking, I've never had any problems...thankfully.

Yep, lesson learned on this one.

Is Arrow's Night of the Comet superior to Scream's? In what aspects?

Better encode. And there is an extra interview with Mary Woronov.

Personally, I ditched my Scream copy and bought the Arrow version. Take note of the fact that it is region B locked.

Yes! Another one has joined the region-free fold! Welcome to expanded options and lots and lots of money being spent!

Can't decide if I should sell my copy of Phantasm II in anticipation of the upcoming sets. Going to be kind of awkward having that lone slipcovered release from one label next to a complete set from another studio.

People are weird. Seriously. If you're expecting gem mint, it's your responsibility to determine the exact condition beforehand. I've learned a long time ago on Ebay that the general publics definition of "like new" is absolutely different than the obsessive compulsive collectors definition. I'm in the same boat. I make sure to clearly note that the slipcover has "surface wear" even if it really is close to perfect. I refuse to deal with the hassle of someone asking for a refund over one dinged corner on a slipcover.

I sold a steelbook copy of The Fifth Element on Ebay a while back. I listed it as "like new". That was a mistake. The buyer came back and complained that the J card was missing as well as the digital copy. I confirmed and informed him that the edition he purchased didn't come with a digital copy when it was new and advised him that since it didn't list it in the listing, it was his responsibility to inquire about it rather than just assume. He agreed, but pushed back on the J Card. We went back and forth over email a few times. I argued that since it was disposable packaging glued to the back of the package, it's not typically an expectation that something such as that would still be maintained. He wasn't happy, but finally just gave up. It taught me a lesson about expectations and how detailed I need to make my listings.

Speaking of slipcovers - does it seem to others that Scream Factory slipcovers lack the quality of the earlier releases and does it bother you?

Firstly, getting rid of the blue border. Ahhhh consistency!!!

They used to have a more movie poster like effect. Look at Halloween 2 and 3, Deadly Blessing etc. Folds, wear effect etc.

The stickers - I loved the high quality stickers - The Fog, They Live, The Howling etc.

And now the images on the spine just seem to get smaller and smaller. They just don't look as nice lined up on a shelf as they used to.

Or is it just me?

you're correct, it doesn't bother me too much but the newer slip covers are not the same quality... they seem "cheaper" in every aspect... even the card stock

The tendency is that they don't let movies go out of print, but they sometimes have fancier limited editions early on. The extra discs in the "Halloween" set, the extra feature on "Lifeforce", the extra disc on "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" -- so, movies, not so much, but if you are a bonus feature junkie it can start to add up.
