I'm sure the dispute is based around Amazon trying to strong arm Olive into adding subtitles to their releases and as anyone whose purchased movies from them knows they will fight to the death against that.

There are indeed many Olive titles I have refused to buy because of the lack of subtitles. Hell, even Image and Mill Creek use subs most of the time.

Most shocking of all, this BD-R of a dime store modern slasher film I bought has subtitles, of all things.

I believe they announced that all releases starting the first of this year will have English subtitles. I've avoided them in the past, but this year I've gotten Hannie Caulder, Macbeth, Johnny Guitar and High Noon, all with English subs.

Kino made effectively the same policy change, so things are looking better on the subtitle front. I'd still like to see commentaries and extras subtitled, but even the majors don't always get that done.

This is great to hear. I believe I'm 1/3 with movies from them being subtitled. It's very annoying every time.

I thought i had seen it at a few places before but seems too early of an release to be already OOP with only being just over 2 yrs old now.

Well, it was a cardboard upright display case, not the big bin, so it was a lot easier to check out the titles they had. But it was still the $7.86 "bin".
