I'll be perfectly happy if the 2008 Blu-ray of Predator is the definitive edition of the film as far as picture quality goes. It would be nice to see more extras, but I like the grainy filmic look of the film on that first Blu-ray edition.

I've never held off on buying favorite movies on Blu-ray in hopes of a better edition in the future, but I've been lucky to buy certain titles for cheap five-dollar prices so that I won't be out too much cash if they are restored in the future....Bullit, Tremors, etc.

life's too short to do that....

a good example is KILL BILL 1 and 2..... when those came out on blu ray it was rumored that a definitive extended cut would be released down the road.... and I remember hesitating on buying them.....

well, here it is almost a decade later and I'd still be waiting if I had passed on them....

I DID wait on those, until last year when the Double Feature dropped to $5 and I couldn't not finally own them, Happy Birthday QT

Indeed, the first BD of Predator looks great to my eyes. I'd love a remaster without the DNR of course, but the original BD is very much worth owning.

I can't say I do the waiting thing much, especially when talking about older, cheap releases. Common sense tells me to wait on a Rogue One SE or UHD but I probably won't. I guess I'm more frivolous with my money than others, but I like owning the movie and who know how long it will take for another edition to come out. With physical media getting more niche and stuff going OOP you can get punished for waiting.

Just snagged a copy of the old PREDATOR Blu-ray from Ebay for $4.99 with free shipping. Thanks for reminding me that I've been meaning to grab that for a while now! The UHE is the worst Blu I've ever seen.
