I'm usually not somebody who goes for remakes, but this trailer looks pretty good. Hopefully they keep, "Beep, Beep, Richie!" too.

The casting seems on-point. I showed my other half the cast pic a couple of days ago and she instantly knew which character was which.

If they have great chemistry and you buy their friendship, then this movie has already won me over big time. I hope it'll be scary, too. But the friendship aspect is the most important thing for me. This was such a big factor in the book as well.

It was close to the end. Definitely within the last 100 pages.

Loved the Black Spot reference in the trailer. House on Neibeilt Street looks also very creepy. In fact, much of it looks almost exactly like I pictured it in my head while reading the novel. Especially Beverly.

I think it's safe to say that Stranger Things has become such a phenomenon it will make film makers want to replicate it's style to draw audiences in. I'm not sure why this remake was decided to be updated to the 80s instead of the 50s in the first place but if it was after or during Stranger Things it could very well be a possibility it was due to that series.
