Default Great Deal on a 42" HDTV Plasma

Is this a good tv for my Playstation 3? It has 1080i resolution, HDMI inputs, and built-in stereo speakers: originally $899 marked down to $499. Waiting 7 hours in line for it starting tonight! Planning my blu-ray experience with the coming of The Dark Knight December 9th!

I'm sure it's a crap brand, so I would say NO. You'd be much better off in the long run buying the Pany 720p TH-42PX80U from Amazon below for $734 (or look for this in a BF add). The extra $235 will buy you a significantly better set that will LAST. Also, no tax, so that'll save you another ~$30. AND, you won't have to battle all of the other idiots in line for the same set. My 2-cents, anyway.

I'm sure it is as well. Glad someone talked me out of it. Just needed to hear it as well as reasons why. How would you rank each major brand: Sylvania, Panasonic, Sony, etc?

They also have a deal for a 22" LCD HDTV by Sylvania for $250. Only two problems: 22" might be too small (but it is only for my bedroom), and the resolution is only 720p/ 16.9 widescreen aspect ration.

I need a nice flat screen for my bedroom that looks great with blu-rays with my playstation 3.

720p is PLENTY of resolution for a 22" set.
