Default Superman Blu Ray pics

I saw Superman: the movie on DVD and it looked horrible, but I liked the movie. When I saw that it was on Blu Ray I was and still am skeptical of buying it due to the horrible PQ and AQ of the DVD, which I thought that it wasn't just the DVD but that the original print just looked and sounded horrible. So does any one have a website name that has screenshots of this film? And if you know a good website or have some pic's of your own please post. Thanks.

Trust me you can't compare the SD version of Supes Returns to the BD. Add to that the re-release with lossless audio and it's definitely worth adding to your collection.

I think he's talking about the Reeves, Superman:The Movie from the 80's. I was looking around and could not find any Blu-ray pic's. I too am curious about this BD. Would be nice to replace my box set.

I thought the HD-DVD version of the first superman movie was good. I enjoyed it.

I have it on BD and it looks pretty good for its age. Its certainly not demo material but its a great looking film when you take into account the age of the film and how bad most of the DVDs looked. Most reviewers were pretty pleased with the encode as well.

i own it and i think for its time it looks spectacular. if you're a superman fan it's well worth buying, but the ultimate superman collection might come out on blu at some point so it also might be worth it to hold out for that. for now, if you can get superman I at a good price i'd go for it.

The first Superman movie looks very nice on Blu-ray for its age. The Donner cut (the sequel) doesn't hold up as well on Blu-ray as Warner was forced to use some test footage and other workarounds to complete it. But both are vastly superior to any dvd version.

Thank you. And to whoever asked I was talking about Reeves Superman. The Film just looked foggy and damaged on DVD. Glad to know it looks alot better on Blu.

That's basically what I'm doing; holding out in case the Ultimate Superman Collection (which I already have on standard, admittedly) gets an upgrade.

I'm gonna watch the fourth Superman in a few minutes. Was it any good or should I get ready for a bad movie?

i loved it when i was a youngster, even until about 3 years ago i could find love for it. but not anymore. Time hasn't just not been kind to it. Its completely ****ed it in the ass.

Superman: The Movie on BD looks beautiful. Really nice picture. I noticed how you thought the DVD looked foggy but the truth is the film, in some parts, was kind of shot in a dreamy, hazy sort of way.

Superman IV's not that bad. Just give it a chance if you've never seen it.

But the blu ray of superman the movie only contains the extended cut and has the same transfer that was done for the extended cut back in 2001. The theatrical cut on the other hand recieved an up to date transfer 2 years ago. I think they should re release the movie on blu ray with the theatrical cut (for the life in me, I still can't figure out why they released it on standard DVD back in 2006 but didn't include it with the blu ray).

As bad as it is (mostly because of the low-budget,) IV is still better than III.

my thoughts on superman IV: i would never buy it as a standalone bluray if it was released by itself. however, i would have no shame in owning it as part of a collection, if for instance the ultimate superman collection was released on blu.
