Sources say that Peter Berg is the top choice (the dude who did Battleship. Yay). Besides, this doesn't sound like their type of alley. Scorsese sounds like a better choice, given how much he holds both Scarfaces in high esteem and planned on making a remake himself with De Niro back in the 80s, though at this point, Scorsese shouldn't be doing anymore gangster films, lest he becomes known for only that, even if he's only made 4 gangster films out of his overall 25.
